Solved BSOD While Streaming/Downloading/Gaming, Mostly DRIVER_IRQL Messages

Uploaded them into this message. The previous two are still in there. Still running fine on safe mode. If you haven't seen it yet, I edited my last post with some more information.

Now we're getting somewhere! Those two new dumps blame ASACPI.sys. Now, for once this isn't a windows file. It's an ASUS driver:

Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a known BSOD maker in Win7). Also a part of the Asus PCProbe and AISuite Utilities

As a result, you need to uninstall the AISuite. Use Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems to uninstall the program. Once complete, check for the driver in device manager. If it is listed under device manager, uninstall it.

This should solve all the BSOD's (hopefully!) :)

Awesome! Will do that immediately. In the mean time, should I leave the verifier on for the next boot in normal?

Disregard the last one. Although I was able to do a couple of things while on normal mode (accessing the browser and typing a response on this site), I hit another BSOD. I'm attaching another upload of the minidump file. The BSOD said the file "AsIO.sys" was at fault this time.

One at a time, I suppose! I do appreciate the continuous help!

Turn off verifier. It's served it's purpose. That's probably why you had another BSOD. Verifier was stressing the computer out.

That last dump did indicate AsIO.sys. That is part of "Asus PCProbe Utility". Check to see if you have that installed, if so remove it. Also check in Device Manager

I didn't have that program installed, but I did have some program that was an ASUS updater and removed it anyway (suspected it of being bloatware or w/e). Turning off the verifier and I guess we'll see how well this works!

I've got my fingers crossed! Report back and mark the thread as solved if the BSOD's have stopped. If they continue, tell me and I'll see what else I can do. :)

Will do! I haven't been on my PC much over the past few days since we fiddled with it (a couple hours here and there), so I'm waiting to put it through it's paces today and Monday. If it's looking good, I'll be sure to mark it as resolved.

Thanks for all of the help! I'm hoping everything works out just fine!

Okay, so I got another BSOD while doing the same thing this thread is entitled. It's been a week or two, which is nice, but I guess I've also been playing on it a little more than that week ago as well.

Should I make a new thread or just update this one? I do have the minidump files for it.

You can continue in this one, that's fine. If you could follow the posting instructions and upload the dumps, that would be great.

It's a shame they've started again but I'll see what I can do.

Yep, I was kind of disappointed as well. It may be something new, but I haven't changed anything since we last spoke. So it's probably something that just pops up when the system is under stress.

Attached are the dump files. The old ones are there, in case you wanted to compare them or anything.

Hi again,

OK, had a look at the latest dump. It's not overly useful but gives me some ideas. I need you to answer me this though, what mouse are you using? I need the make and model. Why? You're latest dump blamed mouhid.sys, a mouse driver.

I'm using a Razer Naga. I had another crash several hours after that post. The BSOD mentioned it was an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH. If you'd like me to upload those to help you out, I can when I get home (it'll be in about 3.5hrs).

I think we might have hit the nail on the head here :)

Gaming mice are notorious for causing BSOD's unfortunately. My recommendation is this, uninstall and update the driver software.

  1. Download the latest drivers from Razer: Razer Naga - Razer Synapse 2.0 (PC)
  2. Unplug the mouse and use another one for the time being
  3. Go to control panel -> Uninstall a program and remove any software that is related to the mouse
  4. Go to Device manager -> Universal Serial Bus controllers and remove any driver that is related to the mouse, if there is one
  5. Reboot only if asked to by windows
  6. Reconnect the mouse and reinstall the drivers you downloaded earlier
If you could also upload the latest dumps, that would be great. If after uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers you still have BSOD's you may need to change the mouse. But don't forget to upload the dumps :)

Hope this helps
Stephen

Okay, will do. Thanks Stephen! That'd be kind of hysterical if it was the mouse, but at this point I'm open to anything. Never would've thought it.

I'll be sure to upload those dump files when I get home before I do the driver updates.
