So, the story is, over the past several weeks, my gaming computer has been blue screening. I've done some google searching and found no actual answer as to why it's blue screening. My only guesses are my RAM, boot HDD, or the overclock on my CPU (Core 2 Extreme QX6700 that was at 3.2 GHz though I lowered it to 2.93GHz to test if it was the OC).

Since I can't figure it out myself, I decided to ask ya'll if you could figure out why.

Thank you for your patience

Hello and welcome Kay now some more system specs would, be handy please see this
Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.
*(pretyped to save time)

Now I don't know if you have done so yet but I personally would run an sfc and chkdsk on the machine.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker - Windows 7 Help Forums
Disk Check - Windows 7 Help Forums < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2
I also think it would be useful to know what the temps are on the machine use Speccy to find those or the BIOS Speccy - System Information - Free Download

I see you mentioned the RAM which I would be testing see this
Now to make absolutely we are on the same page the memtest linked here is the only *one we recommend and it MUST be run for at least 8 passes or you may as well not bother. It is rather lengthy and best left for a downtime for that machine - overnight is good. Having said that you can stop the test if errors show up while you are around and then it is a matter of tracking down the bad stick of RAM.* RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Help Forums

But I would be doing the sfc and chkdsk first and plus the specs please.

I corrected the profile specs as requested, and will run the memtest you recommend. I will be back with the results from that. As for the windows commands, I can run those though I do regular test of my hard drives with the manufacturer software.

Temps idle at 50c and max at ~62c according to HWMonitor(don't worry about that if it seems a bit high, I need to redo the thermal compound after I get more)

Small update of the issues: System survived 4 hours of Prime95 and seems stable after lowering the OC to 2.93GHz from the was stable 3.2GHz. Will report back tomorrow with the memtest86 results

Yes Kay please do those scans I know you ue the manufacturer software t thos are Microsoft system specific and I am not a real fan of software like you hav been using.

For an example it was the Samsung SSD magician software that caused the USB ports to drop out on one of my desktops and it was by sheer luck some other member saw the issue and knew what it was of with the software and back came the ports . I ma not saying don't use it but don't use it over as I said system specific scans.

Yep with the temps creeping up like that might be a good idea to get that compound done.

So I did the memtest and passed it, and I'm going to say my issue was caused by my OC becoming unstable. I still thank you for the insight. In the note of software, I typically only use the software to check status of the drives

Thats ok Kay just keep in mind the scans I quoted are often a quick cure for system issues.
