This is the first time using this forum so please bare with me.

Basically I'm getting a BSOD when I play games or watch films, even youtube videos cause my computer to BSOD, I've tried narrowing it down myself from reading forum posts, and I think it may be my driver for my graphics card, (GTS 250 512MB x2 in SLI) I have 3 screens, 2 HD either side of a 1680x1050 monitor (dell) and I have a HD LCD TV wired up (HDMI) 32in, I know I can only run 2 screens at once in SLI mode.

In the past my computer has BSOD'd. Sometimes I can go months without getting a single BSOD.

I get the Error something like this in the BSOD: Win2K.sys, service exception error, basically a lot of the common ones related to RAM and Graphics card drivers.

I just want to solve the problem once and for all.

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks.

OberZine, the crash dump is not saying anything specific. But it gives some hint of display failure. so try to rollback the display driver to an earlier one which was stable there.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Free up the startup.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know the results.
