BSOD while using Torrents

I have been having issues with downloading torrents, in that every time I download and install either UTorrent or BitTorrent, and as soon as a torrent is being queued to download, a BSOD occurs within minutes.

My laptop had crashed a while back, and I had had the hard-drive replaced by the local Tech Support people. Ever since then, I have been facing this issue. This issue was not there before my laptop crashed and before the new hard-drive was put in place.

But since then, a BSOD occurs within minutes of using either UTorrent or BitTorrent and the only way of stopping the BSOD from occuring has been to completely uninstall BitTorrent or UTorrent.

Why are you running two antivirus at the same time ??? Mcafee and Avast...!!!

Remove both and installed MSE !!

All the BSOD refers to Bugcheck D1 related to NETIO.SYS which is you network I/O driver... and it BSOD when writing the buffer to the drive...

Do the above first and let me know if it still bsod

I just uninstalled Mcafee (I thought I had uninstalled it a while back, I had intended to, I know how conflicting it can be to have 2 anti-viruses installed at the same time). But I would prefer keeping Avast as it's worked well for me in the past. Is that a good option? To just have Avast running?

rahul268 Have you considered the fact you may be getting poisoned torrents? It is a common thing since they are used to pirate videos, movies, music, and w7.

Yes avast or MSE seem to be best. I prefer Avast, but MSE does throw less false alarms, and might be a tiny bit better at removing. Although i find it not at good as blocking before you initially get infected.
Also if you want to be extra safe with torrents, you can run Avast in sandbox when opening or extracting the torrent files, then scanning it.

Both Mcafee and Avast were part of the BSOD process... moreover we have seen ppl here having issue with Avast ...so its best to use MSE...But if you still want to use Avast the choice is yours !..

Has it BSOD by the way ???

Why would you sandbox the Antivirus ?? You would sandbox an application
