Good day.

I am using a fairly new laptop (bought it in April or so). The specifications are as follows:

Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Intel i7-2670QM
nVidia GeForce GT 630M

Had no problems until October when I experienced the first BSOD. Recently the amount of BSOD's grew rapidly:

Oct 9th - 1 crash
Oct 26th - 2 crashes
Oct 27th - 2 crashes
Oct 30th - 1 crash
Nov 2nd - 1 crash
Nov 3rd - 3 crashes
Nov 4th - 3 crashes

I happened to notice, all the recent crashes occurred while uTorrent was running. Though it may be just a coincidence as I had no problems with this application earlier. I have tried looking for drivers to update. Managed to find some. One of them was BIOS update, after which the problem seemed to have disappeared. But not quite, as it appears. That's about it.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Saravani

Hi Saravani, Welcome to SevenForums.

Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this: Start Menu -> Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box -> When it opens, go to File, Save -> Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember -> Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info -> Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.

I've checked your .dmp files and it seems that the cause of the BSOD-s is your current antivirus. You're having Bit Defender installed, am I right? If yes, please uninstall it and reboot the system.

How to uninstall BitDefender OR uninstall in Advanced Mode using the Free version of Revo uninstaller.

Recommended antivirus program for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-

:warn: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Await the .nfo file.

Here is the msinfo32 file.

Yes, I am using BitDefender 2013. Well, I'll try uninstalling it right now.

Looks okay. Let us know if there are any improvements after removing Bit Defender.

Additional suggestions:
Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:
Free up the start-up, nothing except the antivirus is usually needed.
Keep us posted.

Well, it's been a week since I've removed BitDefender and since I had the last crash. No problems since and so far. I guess, it's safe to assume it's the ativirus' fault. Thank you for the help. :)
