I have looked through my event viewer and found several instances of a Kernel-Power error occurring in the last five months. Today it happened twice with a BSOD. I have not made any hardware changes recently. I have a GA-P35-DS3L mobo, E8400, 275GTX vid card, and 400W PSU, and I have my computer hooked up to a UPS. Several hours before the first BSOD I updated my graphics drivers. Is it likely that this is a software error, and a clean install of Windows 7 will fix it?

Thanks for your help in advance.

P.S. Just updated with files

Hi friend and welcome to SF

There are 2 things that I can see from the minidump files:
First thing, most obvious, is your xusb21.sys, which caused BSODs, it belong to XBox USB wireless controller, please download and install fresh copy of it.

Beside that, I see the exception code ffffffc000005, that can suggest memory corruption, I would download third party called memtest86, burn it to CD using Iso recorder and let it run for at least 7 passess (this is less likely but I would like you to try if you have time)

Also, virtual cd program such as Deamon tool or Alcohol 120% are notorious for causing BSODs, it would be good if you can remove them completely, then use "remove" option from this program to remove sptd.sys, used by those virtual cd program:

Code:
BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff88009720a03, fffff88002fee508, fffff88002fedd70}

Probably caused by : [COLOR=Lime]xusb21.sys[/COLOR] ( xusb21+2a03 )

That makes sense considering I just got the drivers installed, for the BSOD. I have been using them for a week though, what would cause the Kernel-Power error earlier though? (It is much of a concern if it doesn't BSOD?)

No crashes yet...

Thanks for your help ttran, uninstalled the drivers and have not crashed yet. I was going to run memtest, but it takes like 2 hours for one pass. I'l run it tomorrow and post again if the issue is not resolved.
