Hi,

Short history. I am having random BSOD since I built my computer, always the same issue. It never happens during load, always when I walk away and the screen saver is running. I actually never see when it actually happens. It's always the same bugcheck in event viewer. I was getting 1-2 a day. I then called Gigabyte and they had me go back into the bios and reset the XMP profile for the memory, but this time in the old style view and not in the HD panel view even though it was already at that setting. I am running the most current bios for my board. I didn't get one for 14 days straight. Then I had to 2 in two days. I ran Prime95 twice for 6 hours, both in FFT small and balanced with no failures or BSOD's. I did this with the screen saver off. I ran two other tests with the screen saver on, but with slightly different Turbo Boost settings and I then started getting BSOD's. I also used Gigabytes Easy Tune just to monitor temps. The tests that pass I used Intels Extreme Tuning Utility to monitor temps. Below is what I always get. All drivers are up to date and all motherboard drivers as well. I ran Windows memory checker all day and it passed. I could try Memtest86? Thanks for any help!

I am running memtest86+ now for 5 plus hours and so far 4 passes=0 errors. I will run it until I reach 8-10 passes. I have never had a BSOD while using the computer even under heavy load. I play Battlefield 4 and Assassins Creed 4. I ran Prime95, both FFT small and the balanced test for 6.5 hours each with zero errors. When I turn the screen saver on and run the test I can make it BSOD, never when it's off. This is way it is driving me crazy, because the BSOD's never happen when I am using the computer. I can play all day with no BSOD's, walk away move my mouse and find the computer restarted due to the above bugcheck. Everything I throw at it Future Mark, 3d Mark, PCMark7, intel benchmarks I can't make it BSOD unless I have the screen saver on. My CPU temps in Prime95 would max out at 78c and my video card would max out around 62c during benchmarks. I don't think it's heat related because the BSOD's are happening at idle. My CPU is 26c at idle. I would get 1-2 a day before Gigabyte had me reset the BIOS XMP profile then I didn't get one for 14 days, then I got two in the next 7 days after that. Always the same error.

Hi,

Also, this didn't start happening until 10 days after I built my machine. The only windows update there was is Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 for Windows 7 x64-based Systems (KB2858725). I have read people are getting BSOD's after this. It says it installed correctly, but when I go to uninstall it in Widows Updater uninstall list it's not there.

Installation date: ‎11/‎27/‎2013 7:56 PM
Installation status: Successful
Update type: Recommended
The Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 is a highly compatible, in-place update to the .NET Framework 4 and 4.5. By using the .NET Framework 4.5.1 together with the C# or Visual Basic programming languages, you can write Windows Store apps. The .NET Framework 4.5.1 delivers better performance, reliability, and security than previous versions. After you install this update, you may have to restart your computer.
More information:
The .NET Framework 4.5.1 and its corresponding language packs are available on Windows Update

Unfortunately this is definately hardware-related, and highly probable it is your video card given that you can replicate the issue each time by using the screen saver.

I'll look into your results more and post here again soon.

Well I have to laugh, un-installing the above wasn't it. I did a little web surfing maybe 20 minutes, left the room for 20 came back and what do you know. This was after a fresh boot-up, didn't play any games either. The same thing, Windows rebooted for the same error.

Hi Golden,

I also un-installed Gigabytes Easy Tune . I am wondering if I should just remove all there stuff. The only thing else I have is the APP center and @Bios. I didn't have any issues after un-installing Easy Tune. How can I make sure it removed everything. I used the un-install option in programs in the control panel. Did you see anything else in my dump file. Thanks
