Hi

I'm having random crashes and issues with Windows 8 x64 Release Preview Build 8400. I'm not sure what's wrong and I thought I had installed all the latest drivers but maybe someone could tell me otherwise. The DMP file in included in the ZIP. I tried to do a system restore and have now lost my account (no clue what happened) so I'm just going to install the 32bit as I've read the 64bit has more issues.

Thank you for any help!

Be aware that Windows 8 is still in testing phase and there is always a good chance you're going to experience instability with it. 3rd party companies have not yet had a good amount of time to refine their drivers to compensate for internal changes Microsoft has made to the kernel, so one is bound to start suffering some sort of problem eventually.

In this case, it looks from initial inspection that your Atheros Wireless driver appears to be doing something unscrupulous and Window 8's new DPC watchdog kicked in and caught it, therefore crashing your system. Of course, there's also the possibility that something else is holding it up, but I doubt it. You can still turn on Driver Verifier and check, though. Do not select Force Pending I/O Requests, IRP Logging, and Low Resource Sim checks. They cause false positives. Though honestly, try and find if you have any new wireless adapter drivers catering specifically for Windows 8.
