Hello having problems with bsod's.... original operating sys is Vista which came with an upgrade to win7HmPrem. i had the same problems with Vista so I uninstalled Vista and just put the win7 upgrade on my system which has been about 3 months ago... I built the sys about 1 year ago so everything is fairly new. the crashes seem to happen most while playing Oblivion and other games.I've updated my drivers and tried other fixes to no avail.... HELP!!!! I have included the zip files per instruction.
Thanks, GP5

Nicely done... :)

Yikes, got enough BSODs there? 50 crashes dated June 6 to now. Hopefully we can get this resolved as soon as possible.

I ran the past 12 dumps, unfortunately no single cause mentioned consistently.

The most common cause seems to be related to your nVidia graphics card, but your drivers are up-to-date. Test your GPU temps with Speedfan. Could you please post a screenshot?

http://www.sevenforums.com/general-...ed-method-uploading-posting-screen-shots.html

Go ahead and remove Daemon Tools Pro. It is using a driver, SPTD.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. After the uninstall is done, remove STPD with this SPTD installer/uninstaller: DuplexSecure - Downloads

Update your JMicron hard drive controller drivers:
Code:
jraid.sys Mon Nov 03 21:20:23 2008
ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/

Do you have another video card you can use? I suggest borrowing one, or robbing one from another computer.

Remove Avira, it is a well-known cause of BSODs. Here is the removal tool: http://www.avira.com/en/documents/utils/av7_tools/en/avuninstXPeng.zip

Install the free Microsoft Security Essentials instead: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

OK I uninstalled Daemon and STPD, but was not sure which driver to get at JMICRON. Also tried to delete Avira but it keeps saying to close all programs which i don't belive I have any open. Already running MSE AntiVirus. Screen shots attached. As for the video card I don't have another but should be able to borrow one.

Well it seems as though my problem was with the memory. After running memtest 86 I found that my MB has two bad memory sockets .. after removing the memory from the bad slot. I haven't had a BSOD yet. Hopefully this has solved the problem.

Oh and Johnathan_King after removing Daemon Tools Pro and SPTD.sys i could not use Windows Explorer..... after reinstalling SPTD.sys it started working again. Any ideas on that one?

Great, thanks for the report!

Now you can RMA the stick of RAM (or the whole kit if using a dual-channel setup) and hopefully get some working RAM.

Keep us posted!

Would you do me a favor? I am looking for people with bad RAM to do a test for me.

First, how many passes did Memtest complete before it found errors? Or did you not notice?

Second, try testing your RAM with Prime95. Use this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html

Instead of selecting Small FFTs, select "Blend". See how long it takes to error.

I don't believe it's the memory, I checked each stick separately in socket 1 and 2 and they checked out fine, but putting either of them in socket 3 or 4 and that's when i get the all the error's. So I assume that it is bad sockets on my motherboard. I was running them in Dual Channel mode in sockets 1 and 3 which is what the manual for my MB calls for. So now i'm down to one dimm in socket 1 which seems to be running fine... no BSOD's anyway.

By the way memtest started showing errors immediately on sockets 3 and 4 with either dimm
