BSOD with Ati cards

Hello, I recently (not even a month ago) built a new computer with these components:

MB: Asus P7H55, LGA1156, Intel H55, DDR3

CPU: Core i5 750, 2.66GHz, LGA1156, 8MB, Boxed

GPU: Ati Radeon HD 5770, 1GB GDDR5, 128-bit, PCI-E, DVI

PSU: LC-Power 560W, LC6560 v2.3, Silent Giant Green Power Edition

RAM: 2x2GB, DDR3 1333MHz, CL9


I installed Windows home premium 64-bit full retail version, drivers from the MB disc, ATI's latest drivers from ATI webpage and all available Windows updates.
All seemed fine except sometimes I got the "Graphics driver stopped responding and has been recovered" -notification.
Few days later when booting up, I got 0x119 BSOD just after Windows logo. After that I booted again and it worked.
That's my problem. I get that BSOD like 2 times of 3 boots, and if I boot in safe mode or without ATI drivers it works perfectly. Have tried all ATI drivers from 10.3 to 11.2 with no result.
Every time I uninstalled ATI drivers from control panel, I booted safe mode and deleted leftovers with Driversweeper. I have tried to install ATI drivers from their website, from windows udpate and from the CD that came with the card. Updated every single driver with Driver Genius. No help. Ran memtest86 with 9 passes, Reinstalled Windows three times and tried with another Hard drive. Tried with my old ATI HD 3600, also BSOD but with code 0x116. With my Geforce 8800 GTS and my friends 460 GTX everything works perfectly, as well as my ATI 5770 works perfectly with he's computer, which is very strange. Also ran chkdsk, defragment and the system scan (can't remember it's name).
ATM I have my old 8800 GTS running and no problems or anything.

edit: I am using Avast antivirus. Used Norton in the first OS install.

Obviously your conclusions are correct these were all caused by the video subsystem. Since you have replaced the driver and the card works on another machine Power or heat might be the issue.

heat-- I would download cpu-z and gpu-z to keep an eye on the temps.

Power since the problem occurs during boot I am thinking power. what PSU do you have and how much current does the card need on its rail?

If the card is less than a month old I would just replace it. Yeah it sounds like a driver issue but it could also be a hardware (card) issue. Since this is a new card I'm sure you're within the return period. Get a replacement and see what gives.

Stuff happens. I bought a 6950 that I had to replace because it started artifacting - http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/138499-ati-6950-a-4.html#post1230124. Anyway the replacement has been working like a champ

This can happen with any piece of hardware. If man made it, it can break. Stuff happens.

PSU is LC power 560 W and recommended power for that card is 500w and my friend has a Corsair 550 W PSU.
I had the card fully packed 'bout a week ago for posting it back where I bought it, when my old ATI card (HD 3600) started acting at bootup also, and I gave 5770 another try.

With HD 5770 temps never go over 55c when I'm playing, but I remember testing it with Furmark (or whatever it's called), never got over 65c but my computer booted itself after about 10 mins.

Now that I start remembering things, I got some black screens of death when uninstalling ati from control panel, forcing me to boot manually. Sometimes after a long idle (12h) I found my comp freezed and again forced to boot.

Should have tested 5770 with my friends computer under heavy load. But atleast it booted normally like 20 times

Ati 5770 bsod

I'm getting a bunch of ATI driver related BSOD'S,I can load the dumps if that helps, I've noticed four of my last seven ones happed while running DVDFAB(trying to backup my blu-rays), and three more while playing WOW, I have tested my RAM)12 passes no probs), and this is a two week old install of Win 7, I'm currently dual booting and I'm not having any prob in XP, any suggestions?
