I'll post a reply with the stickied info but wanted to go ahead and get the story posted. This is a D830, Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M. I'm the original owner, Win7 64, 4GB, I've never had this problem and hadn't installed or knowingly changed anything for several weeks prior to this starting. I brought up Word to edit a document and as soon as it came up, the screen pixelated and I got the BSOD. Since then I've tried:

1) Uninstalling/deleting everything nvidia, reinstalling nvidia v3.41 drivers/tools, with same results.

2) Uninstalling/deleting everything nvidia, reinstalling drivers from the Dell support site (for Vista 64-bit), with same results.

3) Uninstalling/deleting everything nvidia, and allowing Windows to search for drivers on its own, with same results.

In each case, from a cold boot, I get the "Starting Windows" with the dancing windows, then a black screen, then BSOD. I can boot into safe mode with networking and run anything; I see no evidence of memory, SSD, or other problems.

I'm afraid the graphics chipset has failed somewhere, but since this has been such a common BSOD condition for so long I thought I'd ask just to see if anyone knows of another suggestion.

Thank you!

Not much that can be done here, officially there's no support from Dell for Windows 7 so you're relying on Windows drivers partially and I do not expect that you could run any sort of stress test on the GPU without too much risk. I believe your GPU has failed, but I do not expect that can be tested.
