BSOD with error code "Stop: C0000221 Unknown Hard Error"

keredd

New member
Enountered a BSOD that said something along the lines of "Unknown Hard Error" with the code in the title followed by the path: \systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll
It then said something about dumping physical memory to disk. I encountered this BSOD after I purposely powered down my machine and it had been turned off for a couple of hours.

All help is greatly appreciated.

p.s. I encountered an unhandled exception error when trying to run the SF diagnostic tool so I hope it completed sufficiently.

Thanks!

Got a new BSOD

This one occurred while I was working on the computer. The message was a bit more extensive. I have attached the minidump to this reply. It stated something about any new hardware added lately which no new hardware has been added fro over a year. Could a hard drive being going bad? I currently have 2 SSDs in a RAID 0. The RAID management tool says the drives are healthy but that doesn't mean anything.

Thanks!

Apparently, a stop 0xF4 is something to do with your storage drives. Check them thoroughly.

  1. Reseat the sata and power.
  2. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
  3. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.
  4. Update your SSD's firmware.
But, there is something else, too
Code:
fffff880`0df146a8 fffff880`01afa0f2Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\tdrpm273.sys, Win32 error 0n2

It is Acronis Try&Decide Volume Filter Driver. Somehow it is hampering your disc performance.
Code:
kd> lmvm tdrpm273
start end module name

It is very old, too! Either update the version, or uninstall it.

Let us know the results.
