Hello, I hope someone can help me with this.

I have a 2-3 yr old homebuilt system that has been largely error free til now. I am receiving BSOD's with increasing frequency. I have tried to trouble shoot it, but alas, no dice.

I received this:

STOP! 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000
0xFFFFFA800F467028
0x00000000BF800000
0x0000000000000114

and upon restarting got a detailed notice after another BSOD of

BCCode 124
BCP1 0000000000000000
BCP2 FFFFFA800F45Do28
BCP3 00000000BF800000
BCP4 0000000000000014

I have done the MS memory check with no reported problems. I have not downloaded memtest because I''m not sure the PC will stay on long enough. Ckdisk was fine this AM on the SDD and the HDD.

BIOS is original F8 and never overclocked. I haven't messed with it since build. It has the PU temp at 53 and system temp at 34. V Core at 1.104v and Dram V at 1.536 which from my research is in line with spec.

Research showed heat might be a problem, so I downloaded a core temp monitor, it had a max of 60 noted, but usually at 35 at idle. I have removed old paste, re-installed cooler, which is stock. All cables removed and reinserted, both memory sticks removed and replaced. All fans cleaned, and truly, dirt was minimal in the case.

I did a system restore as far back as I was able, no help.

I removed the only new program I had installed, a USB control program recommended by HP to make my printer be able to plug into the router to serve all users in the house. I have uninstalled that program, with no change.

Any ideas? I sure would appreciate some help. I have attached the dump file.View attachment 383218

From all the crashes, there is just a single dump. A single dump isn't enough for proper analysis
If you are using a program like Ccleaner stop using it while troubleshooting.
This because programs like Ccleaner remove dump files that are needed to troubleshoot.
Or configure Ccleaner to not remove dump files:

Read carefully before proceeding.

   Warning

If you're overclocking your system, revert back to stock clocks now.

   Note
Test the system once the overclock is removed before continuing with the steps outlined below.

Part One: CPU Stress Test
Part Two: MemTest86+ RAM Diagnostic
Part Three: Hard Drive Diagnostics
Part Four: GPU Stress Test

ONE

 CPU TEST

arrow.png
Run Prime95 and/or IntelBurnTest to stress test your CPU. Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU - Windows 10 Forums & http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/220743-cpu-stress-test-using-intelburntest.html

   Warning
Your CPU temperatures will rise quickly while under this stress test. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.

TWO

 RAM TEST

arrow.png
Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Help Forums

   Note
picture.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

THREE

 HDD TEST

arrow.png
Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
Run following tests
  1. Short Drive Self Test
  2. Short generic
  3. Long generic
If the short generic fails, no need for the long generic.
   Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

arrow.png
Run chkdsk
Disk Check - Windows 7 Help Forums

arrow.png
Run HDTune to
  • scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
  • check the health,
  • benchmark.
It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
Let me know what the results are
  • of the error scan,
  • make a screenshot of the health of every hard drive and post the screenshots,
  • post screenshots with the benchmark of the
    • transfer rate,
    • access time,
    • burst rate,
    • cpu usage.

FOUR

 GPU TEST

arrow.png
Run Furmark to stress test your GPU. FurMark - GPU Stress Test - Windows 7 Help Forums

   Note
Run Furmark for around 30 minutes.

   Warning
Your GPU temperatures will rise quickly while Furmark is running. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.

Thanks for that. I will close ccleaner and perform what parts of the other instructions I am able. Unfortunately if I try to do much, even in safe mode, it closes down with another blue screen. I can barely open a web page.

The basic definition of the 0x124 crash = hardware crash.
I recommend to start with the hard drive and memory tests, because they both can be performed in DOS.
Is your SSD firmware up to date?

I have relied on automatic updates, and when I first had problems and the pc was more stable, I was able to check that all drivers were up to date using the MS tool. I understand there are others that may be better, but I did not see that until I researched the problem more thoroughly. I did the memory test that comes up as part of the repair menu upon restart after a crash. It had no problems on the basic settings but only took about 40 minutes. I then, later, when the computer was less stable, I tested the ram again on the advanced setting and it only got 20 percent through before another BSOD presented. I also did a checkdisk on the SSD and the HDD which revealed no problems.

I don't know if it is diagnostic or not, but when I tried to run memtest86x I could get through the menu and set it to check all cpu's and all of the tests, but when I started the test it would freeze almost immediately. After 2 hrs it remained frozen. I could not even hit esc to get back to the test parameter screen.

On the main menu, the option (t) for test selection, which options in particular should I do? It seems all of the tests are by default set to ON with an asterisk.

I rebooted again last night and let her rip. This AM, after 10.5hrs, it is still not done, but I have 6 errors. It was too dark to take a picture, but it states.

Test 13 Address:27804574 Expected ffffffff Actual ffff7fff
Ram may be succeptible to hammer based.....

There are 2 other addresses that are also repeated through the first 2 cores.

Still running when I left for work this AM.

I'll repeat what you can find too in the tutorial :)

If >=1 (1 or more) errors are found, you can stop the test and test each stick in each (used) slots to find out if a stick or slot is at fault.

Just an update.

I cannot run prime95. Instant bsod. Cannot load Intel burn test from safe mode.

Mem test 86, I get hammer test errors only, but varying numbers with different locations with repeated testing. No changes for better or worse with one card or the other or different slots. I will try some new ram when it arrives tomorrow.

The furmark graphics test was fine. It leveled out relatively quickly, did not get hot, and I saw no screen errors.

Chkdsk was fine on hdd and ssd. Sea tools on hdd was perfect and hd tools was clean on both ssd and hdd.

I will upload an updated dump file when some files are finished backing up.

Update. Got a new processor, this time an AMD processor which required a new mobo... new ram. Installed everything, hit the power switch and got nada. Looks like it was the power supply the whole time. Ran with the old mobo, but the new one must have required something different that it wouldn't power on. Now I've got a mobo, processor, and ram for a hackintosh project my son wants to do. Thanks for your help.
