Ive been recently getting occasional blue screens, (like once or twice a day, my pc runs 24/7,) it usually happens while im away from the computer so nothing is really running apart from Mozilla Firefox, thunderbird, adobe photoshop and after effects.
Really need some help cause i dont want this to be happening >.<

Thanks for uploading the files. That additional information can be very useful. I looked at your three latest dumps and they are virtually identical. All are bugcheck 3B, System Service Exception, and all three blame atikmdag.sys, a video driver and it is up to date. Before we deal with the video driver, you need to correct some other things that can easily be causing conflicts and crashes.

To begin, I urge you to uninstall TuneUpUtilities. Windows 7 is a totally different operating system than XP. Win 7 is not an evolution from XP. It is a totally new OS and even changed from Vista. Thus the wisdom we learned about XP - tweaking, cleaning, modifying for speed, etc - do not apply at all to Win 7. Forget that knowledge.

Windows is a closed source system. Developers of tuneup utilities and registry cleaners do not have the core code of Win 7 and are not working on definitive information, but rather they are going on past knowledge and experience, most of which is not applicable to Win 7. Automatic cleaners will usually have to do some guesswork.

There is almost no tweaking that can be done to Win 7 to speed it up. The system is designed to diagnose itself and take care of itself which it does remarkably well. Win 7 maintains itself and that includes the registry.

Tuneup utilities are pure snake oil. At best they do nothing except use resources. At worst, they can mess your system up, slowing it down, and even crash it. There is no tuneup utility out there anywhere that can speed Win 7 up and improve its performance, at least not at this time.

This isn't to say that the system does not need to be maintained. Uninstall programs that you don't use, delete unneeded and unnecessary files. Defrag your hard drive. But don't screw with the registry unless you are an in depth expert in the Win 7 registry.

I find three outdated drivers loaded on your system. Two are very obsolete.GVTDrv64.sys is shown in your dumps as being involved in the crash. gdrv.sys is a known problem with Win 7.

Renaming drivers: create a restore point, using Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, locate the driver files, and rename them from .sys to .old. Reboot and the drivers will not load. This will break whatever software or hardware these drivers are associated with.

Follow these suggestion, reboot, and see if your system is more stable. Post back and let us know. If you get another BSOD, upload it and we will go from there.

No problem, Jenky. You rename a driver the same way you re name any file. You right click on the file (in Windows Explorer) and select Rename. You may have to run Windows Explorer as an Adminstrator to have the rename option. When you click on rename, a little window with the file name will open with the file name highlighted. Highlight only the extension portion of the name, type "old" (without the quotes) and ht the Enter key. The file will be renamed.

Here is the location of gdrv.sys on your computer: C:\Windows\gdrv.sys. GVTDrv64.sys is also located in - C:\Windows\GVTDrv64.sys. Most drivers are located in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers.

Renaming drivers: create a restore point, using Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, locate the driver files, and rename them from .sys to .old. Reboot and the drivers will not load. This will break whatever software or hardware these drivers are associated with.

Here is the location of gdrv.sys: C:\Windows\gdrv.sys. It is not located in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers. Likewise here is the location of GVTDrv64.sys: C:\Windows\GVTDrv64.sys. Try uninstalling Easy Saver; that may eliminate both of these drivers. If not, rename both of them. Reboot and let's see if these to drivers are causing the conflict with atikmdag.sys.

Hi Carl, thank you for your reply. I have renamed GVTDrv64.sys when you first told me to, but for some reason windows has created a new GVTDrv64.sys and now i have GVTDrv64.old and GVTDrv64(2).old in my dierctory.
For the EasySaver, when i open Programs and features there is no program named EasySaver, how do I uninstall it when its not there?

Do a search of your C: drive for GVTDrv64.sys. Rename every instance of it you find to ._old. Don't forget the underscore. There is another copy of this driver on your system that is being used to reinstall the driver when you boot.

It must be the GVTDrv64.sys that was causing the problem, since i renamed it my system is stable, the uptime is now 3days 12 hours.

That is really good news! Thank you for the update. I hope this trend continues for you. GVTDrv64.sys could well have been causing the conflict as out of date as it is.
