Hi guys,

I'm working on my brother's pc the next coming months (don't ask me why). It functioned properly the last week, but suddenly I got blue screens... A lot of them. Even when trying to boot windows it just crashes immediately and it even crashes in safe mode?

So here are my dump files, took me a while to get them because of the fast crashes.

Hope you guys can help me.

My Computer

OS
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
First, please start with these free, bootable hardware diagnostics:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)
There's signs that this could be a hardware issue - so let's start with this.

Then, there are these 3 problems in Device Manager (from the MSINFO32 report):
sptd ROOT\LEGACY_SPTD\0000 Dit apparaat is niet aanwezig, het werkt niet correct of heeft niet alle benodigde stuurprogramma's geïnstalleerd.

Cisco AnyConnect VPN Virtual Miniport Adapter for Windows x64 ROOT\NET\0001 Dit apparaat is uitgeschakeld.

Security Processor Loader Driver ROOT\LEGACY_SPLDR\0000 Dit apparaat is niet aanwezig, het werkt niet correct of heeft niet alle benodigde stuurprogramma's geïnstalleerd.
The first one is from Daemon Tools and is a known BSOD cause.
Please uninstall the program.
Then download this free tool to remove the problematic sptd.sys driver: DuplexSecure - FAQ - Remove 64 bit sptd.sys

The second one is likely due to some confusion with the 5 network adapters on your system. Here's the list from Systeminfo.txt:
5 netwerkkaarten ge‹nstalleerd.
[01]: Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)
Verbindingstijd: LAN-verbinding

Verbindingstijd: Draadloze netwerkverbinding 4

DHCP-server: n.v.t.

[03]: PPPoP WAN Adapter
Verbindingstijd: LAN-verbinding 3
DHCP ingeschakeld: Nee
IP-adres(sen)

[04]: MAC Bridge Miniport
Verbindingstijd: Netwerkbrug
DHCP ingeschakeld: Ja
DHCP-server: 192.168.2.1
IP-adres(sen)
--[01]: 192.168.2.21

[05]: Cisco AnyConnect VPN Virtual Miniport Adapter for Windows x64
Verbindingstijd: LAN-verbinding 4
Status: Hardware niet aanwezig
I would uninstall the Cisco software/drivers, then install a freshly downloaded copy. Then check to see if the device still has problems (in Device Manager).

The last one - SPLDR - is usually seen with issues when a malware infection is present. Please scan your system for infections using a portable/downloadable rescue disk (such as one of these: FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List )

If, after all this, the system shows BSOD's - post back and we'll try someother tests.

Ok, I'll try that. Oddly enough, I've now been able to run windows the entire day without having a BSOD. All I did was uninstall a free antivirus program. Can you tell me why the BSOD's are so irregular?

And thanks for your help :)

-edit-
Is there some other way besides bootable discs to solve the problem? Because I don't have cd's, or a USB stick at hand. Besides that I did everything, and after rebooting I got a series of BSOD's again.

The Memory test and HDD tests came up with nothing. And before I did these I got another series of BSoD's...

Instead of the bootable antivirus rescue CDs, I ran avira antivirus and malwarebytes. Both came up with nothing.

Please zip up and upload the minidump files from C:\Windows\Minidump

Then, while waiting for a reply from us, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like. From my limited experimentation it makes the BSOD's come faster.
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line:
Code:
Delete these registry keys (works in XP, Vista, Win7):
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDrivers
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDriverLevel

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode? If not, tap F8 rapidly just before the Windows Splash Screen shows up.

If that doesn't work, then run Startup Repair 3 times (from the installation DVD).
If that doesn't work, then run the following commands from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt:
Code:
bootrec /fixmbr
Code:
bootrec /fixboot

Can you use another disk with a "Live" OS to boot to and do repairs to the file system? If so, go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers - and rename sptd.sys to sptd.BAK Then try and boot to Safe Mode. (NOTE: The file may not be there if you ran the removal tool on the 15th or 16th)

Backup your stuff before trying this... Then, if that doesn't work, you're looking at an attempt to install Windows - which will wipe out everything on the hard drive.
