Hi have been having constant BSOD problems since i purchased my laptop approx 10 months ago.

Windows 7 premium x64
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Is an OEM version
approx 10 months old

the error :
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 3081

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: FFFFF88003A4E07C
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF88003A4E07C
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

the laptop was in and out of the place of purchase for first 5 months of ownership but they continually maintained that they could find nothing wrong with the system. i have been overseas for the last 5 months and this is the first opportunity that i have had to spend time trying to resolve this problem (for those of you snickering about why it has taken so long to address the problem)

I have tried to provide all of the information from the BSOD posting instructions although for some reason i am not able to obtain a perfmon / report? perfmon is there, but there is no /report thread.

any help at all would be greatly appreciated as this is a constant and annoying hassle

it tells me that the driver is upto date. although the dirver was only re-installed approx 2 months ago (i hadnt used the SD card reader and it wasn't until i tried to use it that i realised the driver wasn't installed. maybe the computer techs had thought it would fix it?)
anyway the problem was occuring before i installed the driver, so is it possible that there is another underlying problem? (sorry i'm good at following instructions, not so good at finding problems/interpreting data)
also is there another way of updating the driver without using the default driver update program?
thanks in advance

p.s. computer bluescreened halfway through my first reply to your post, hehehe

Uninstall the card reader from device manager if the driver update does not fix it, this will help us to identify any other problems

downloaded and installed. just as an interesting note, this driver is different to the one previously installed. strangely the last driver was published in 2006.
well fingers crossed that this works. thanks for your help
