BSOD not even three minutes after running small FFTs... i would post the bsod info but my computer crashed twice again before i could even manage to get it and post a comment... should i do it again, and did you want a different test, or just the small FFTs? also the temperature was steadily increasing, it got to about 86 degrees or something in the core right before the crash.

Could you please provide a new jcgriff2 report?

Try running the Small FFTs again; repeatability will be key here.

I lost focus of the original problem -- sorry! Sometimes I get so caught up in the jcgriff2 report I forget to read the history and miss obvious problems.

That is usually a sign of hardware trouble, and given the system history, again, I am not surprised. I'd suspect perhaps the hard drive is bad, or maybe the motherboard is damaged. I'd take the system into a repair shop and have the motherboard replaced, honestly.

You might try reseating your RAM as well; that's something you can easily do from home.

would you likely suggest just getting another laptop? Because my tech-savvy friends are telling me I should.

When it comes down to it, you might just be better off. A new motherboard for your system would cost probably a couple hundred dollars, and there is no guarantee it will solve the problem. If you had access to spare computer parts you could test with, it may change the story a little. If you could definitely rule out RAM and CPU, we could make a pretty good case for the motherboard being the problem.
