BSODs and Random Reboots plague my pc

I recently built the computer with mostly new parts, new case, mobo, processor, powersupply, SATA 1tb hdd. Kept 2GB crucial ram(2), cd drive, and secondary IDE hdd.

Windows 7x64 pro is my OS. Only running ZoneAlarm and Firefox at times. BSODs during any activity, but especially file transfers, web browsing, and program installs. Have already reinstalled OS on a fresh SATA hdd. Please see attached minidumps and cpuz report.

Any help/advice would be appreciated. I've tried installing new drivers for all hardware and pretty sure have done it except for bios flash. I was getting many BSODs while downloading / installing / updating.

The dmps are almost identical. the all point to a kernal mode trap. If this just started happening and the reinstall didnt cure it I would suspect hardware. Ram, or cpu

I would start with the ram
download memtestx86 and run five passes

run a system file check to verify and repair your system files
type cmd in search>right clikc it and run as admin>sfc /scannow

If you are overclocking stop

Let us know

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000006f8

Seems to be caused by Netio.sys. This is a system file, which could point to a network bug, or bad install media.

Try running command prompt as admin, and type this:
Code:
sfc /scannow

If that does nothing, you may try using a registry cleaner to clean it out.

I had run the memtest86+ all last night for 15 passes. It detected no errors. I just ran the system file check (sfc /scannow) and nothing was corrupt/errored.

System is not overclocked.

If that does nothing, you may try using a registry cleaner to clean it out.

~Lordbob
Do you have a free registry cleaner to recommend using?

Any additional info is greatly appreciated. I am at a loss for what to do besides scrap the RAM and try new.

Obviously having them all be the same makes it a bit easier to deal with. I Pm'ed our resident BSOD guru to take a peek. He will know might be a day.

LordBob,
Downloaded CCleaner and did a registry run. Came up with the attached results. Is it safe to let the CCleaner tool try to fix the issues?

Thanks ZigZag! I look forward to hearing what he has to say about this problem. I'm really hoping it doesn't turn into an expensive fix (new parts etc). I will keep an eye out for his response.

I don't recommend registry cleaners - they will hurt your system over the long run.
Also, here's a link about them (it's an XP article, but it does apply to Vista and Win7): XP Fixes Myth #1: Registry Cleaners - Windows BBS

I'd suggest starting with these tests:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)
Also, please update this driver ASAP: ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005
It belongs to the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility - downloadable from the Asus website and the 2005 version has known issues with Windows 7 systems. Please download the latest Windows 7 version and install it.

NETIO.SYS and TCPIP.SYS are present in the stack text of a lot of the dump files. As such, I'd suggest:
- downloading a fresh copy of your networking drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the network card.
- uninstalling your networking drivers from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
- then installing the freshly downloaded drivers
- then monitor to see if it's fixed the BSOD's. If not, post back with the new memory dumps.

Here's a summary of the 15 memory dumps:

PS - if this doesn't fix it, try uninstalling your Kaspersky product, then use this free removal tool to clean up the remnants: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279463

Updated Asus Tool driver and Network card driver. So far have not received any BSOD's or random reboots.

Malware scan turned up a few infected files in Windows Defender and something else. I've attached the text report to this post. Please take a look and let me know if anything is in need of repairing there.

Otherwise I'm happy to report no BSODs or reboots recently. I'm going to run the PC under normal stressors for the next couple days and report back my findings. Thanks for all of your help guys.

and let me know about the malware scan that I've attached.

Hello,

sorry for digging out this thread, but i have a very similar problem. New PC since last week (hardware in my profile), it runs great for a good week till yesterday, first bsod. Happened 3 times till today.
Iam also running Firefox and Zonealarm and analyzed the minidumps, but i have no idea, maybe you can help.
Looks NetIO.sys is the guilty one. Because i installed the original mainboard drivers a few days before the first bsod, i reinstalled the original realtek network-drivers, hoping they overwrite the mainboard drivers (cant deinstall them?) but still bsod.

I also scanned for Maleware, nothing found. I did
"sfc /scannow", it said damaged files found, but could not repair everything. I dont now how to handle the cbs.logfile, its 7 MB in Size 0.o.

Hopefully you can read more out of the minidumps!

Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor school english ;]

Try a repair install for those damaged files. That might fix the problem.

Edit a few days later:

I was wrong. Today, again same BSOD. That makes me cry. Now i killed zonealarm. Lets see if it works.
***********************************
Edit again:
Ok, i fixed it. The reason was Zonealarm, so deinstall it and no BSOD anymore *dance*
***********************************

Ok thank you, looks like i fixed it :)

The "motherboard_driver_lan_realtek_8111_w7" driver was responsible, maybe he does not work probably with windows 7 64 (and Zonealarm?).

So if anybody else recieves this error while using the above driver with a gigabyte board (maybe in combination with zonealarm), deinstalling the realtek driver and using the standard windows network driver should work.

Thank you and have a nice, bsod-free day ;)
