About to rip my hair out! Built my machine in July of 2010 and haven't had the best of luck since.

On a side note I've ran a multitude of tests to rule out hardware. WD HDD diagnostic tool, Memtest 86+, LinX, and Prime 95. All have done great. Memtest for 5-6 passes, Prime95 for 24 hours and LinX for 100 passes.

Here is an image of my latest BSOD (or YSOD). I'm hoping there's just some driver or something that is outdated and just needs an update.

Thanks.

You hit the nail right on the head.

Two problems

1-ASACPI.SYS a major cause of BSOD's in the 2005 rev.

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUS teK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE

Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

2-And Your Symantec. Remove and replace with Microsoft security essentials

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product | Norton Support

Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

I could have SWORN I updated that driver. Guess I didn't. Had it downloaded but must have not unzipped it and ran it.

Hopefully that will fix it!

But it's updated.

I don't know why it says it isn't. Unless I didn't do something right. I donwloaded the file, extracted it, and ran the AsAcpiIns file in the 64-bit folder. Went through the install process and it auto restarted my computer.

Here's an image of the file that says 2009.

I don't know why that's still in there, but it shouldn't.

There may be a second copy in another location. Try searching for the file.

Wow there's a lot!

5 of them are from my download folder.
1 from the System32 Drivers folder
2 from System32/DriverStore/FileRepository/

You only need the one in System32, and perhaps in Sys32/driverstore.

I would delete any that have the old date.

The ones in that folder are the out of date ones.

Maybe I'll just copy paste the current one into the others.

I can't delete the one that is outdated. I need permission from system to do it.

I'm the admin account.

Here is an image of the folder:

Lots of outdated stuff from the looks of it.

Another BSOD. This time I'm pretty sure it was ATI.

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

There is a driver update from the 15.

Still havent taken care of the above. will soon.

EDIT:

Can't change the one file. It says I need permission. I've changed the owner around but it still doesn't matter.

This on appears to be ATI as you suspected.

I also still note the Symantec.

What about the other ASACPI.sys? I can't seem to get rid of it.

have your tried booting into safe mode (F8) and deleting it from there? If you cant delete it try renaming it to *.BAK so it cant load.

I had another BSOD but nothing was created. My screens just messed up like they were going to BSOD but never did. I ended up restarting.

But if they did here's the files.
