Hi,

The blue screen of death are coming with

win32k.sys, at first then irql_not_less_or_equal.

I have win7 64 bit, clean installed like 1 year or so back.
The dell hardware I bought was almost 2 years back but was fully replaced, motherboard, cpu except hardrive 6 months back.

It is a dell studio 1555 laptop.

Please help!

The two most common reasons for this are
  1. bad RAM
  2. CPU overheating
the latter being very probable on a notebook which hasn't been cleaned properly.

Thanks for your reply. How did you go to this conclusion, by reading the dump files? Can you please reply with the dump descriptions?

It's the most common errors for irql_not_less_or_equal.

@sordid,

After hearing about overheaating, i switched off the laptop overnight and switched on. it still crashed on irl bBSOD. So I dont think overheating has anything to do with this. Do you have any debugging tools to read me the dumps i have uploaded?

An update, i checked some of the other forums and with that enabled the driver verifier. After rebooting, got an BSOD on syntp.sys (or something like that). On further research, found out it is the touch pad driver which is faulty. After the reboot, i am getting operating system not found. I am going to use the disk to do a repair but now i am just checking the hardware (FN key hold restart). Please some one get me description of the minidumps i have put in my first post.

Another update!

The situation is getting bad to worse. system repair does not recognize my windows like before. This is screwed up big time now. When i use the dvd and do system repair, it is going on and on for 2-3 hours now. What to do? I have tried fixboot, but then I cannot go into C drive anymore? Can anyone help me? I do not want to clean install.

Would it be possible that your hard disk is damaged?
Did you get any SMART messages?

no Smart messages. i did a function start on the computer, it did not find any errors.

Now I was able to goto C drive through startup repair . i did chkdsk, it says bad links in lost chain at cluster xxxxx corrected. Numbers are scrolling by.

I'm crossing fingers that doesn't mean that important data is lost.
