Hi all,

First of all, I really think this forum is really awesome!
Secondly, Im new here and im from Holland so excuse me for my bad english xD

2 weeks ago I bought some new parts for my computer:
- Intel Core i7-950
- ASRock X58 Extrem3 mobo
- OCZ 2x2GB DDR1066
- GeForce GTX 460 from Gigabyte (overclocked)
- Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Installation all went well but as soon as i started to do things on my computer, like installing programs, doing games, surfing on the web etc., i got many BSODs.
Didn't write it down what the BSOD's were so dont know excactly what kind it were but some of them had to do with Memory_Management.

After 3 days and around 30 BSODs (around 5 different BSODs) i was tired of it and decided to do a complete reinstall (formatted everything etc.)

Newly installed windows 7 and immediatly i ran all the updates and I installed all of the drivers using DriverMax.

Now im running it for about a week and still had some BSODs but waaaaayyy les then before.

BSOD's i do have some info from:
- 0x1a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (actually 0x0000001a but i think youll get it this way xD)
- 0x24 (0x00000000001904FB, 0xFFFFF88008A22008, 0xFFFFF88008A21870, 0xFFFFF80002E5CCED)
- 0x3B (0x00000000C0000005, 0xFFFFF960002EFEE7, 0xFFFFF8800D1E4???, 0x0000000000000000) win32k.sys - Address FFFFF960002EFEE7 base at FFFFF960000A0000, Date ?????4c1c483f
- 0x19 (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFF900C2C5B650, ??????)

Thats all the info about the BSODs I have. By the "?" I dont know what there used to be.

I read on this forum that i should use Memtest86+ so I did.

I first tested both sticks in my mobo (on slot A1 and B1):
After 8 passes i had a total of 21 errors, mostly on pass 7 in the 7th test
View attachment 99996

Then I put stick #1 in slot A1:
Got errors on pass 1 in test 7+8 so i stopped it and put stick #2 in slot A1:
Got errors on pass 0 in test 4+7 so i stopped it again.

1 Stick in slot A2, B2 or C2 equals No boot (that also stands in the mobo manual)

Well got on and on with testing the sticks seperately in different slots but everytime got a few errors after pass 1 so i stopped them to test further.

Finally i put Stick #1 in slot B1 and stick #2 in slot C1:
Got 11 errors after 4 passes in test 7 & 8
View attachment 99997

I saw on the internet that some people have around 5000 errors but i dont get more then 25 so
Do i have bad memory or what is the problem?

I noticed in my bios that the current CAS settings are 8-8-8-18 but on the manufactor page of my OCZ memory says: 7-7-7-21.
View attachment 99998View attachment 99999
Maybe there is something wrong with that?

I also often get the on screen error that says:
The Memory Could Not Be Read
Then i have to restart my pc before i can go on.

My story is getting very long now and almost unreadable so ill start ending it now xD

I have followed the BSOD Posting Instructions so the .rar is also attached!
Note: I recently cleaned my pc with Ccleaner so I dont know if there is anything in the dump files but please let me know!

Basic System Information:
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
- the original installed OS on the system? Yes
- an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail
- What is the age of system (hardware)? 2 weeks
- What is the age of OS installation? 2 weeks

Hardware info:
- Intel® Core™ i7-950 Processor (8M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI)
- ASRock X58 Extreme3
- OCZ DDR3 PC3-8500 Gold Edition
- Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 1GB

Maybe there are some other reasons why my pc doesnt work like i want it so please help me!
Hope you guys understand my story and can help me!

Thanks in advance!

~Mark

Mark Hi and welcome

Yes you do have a memory problem and as I told you in the other forums you posted the same problem several old drivers that need updating.

I'll only add that if you are overclocking, you need to move from "Auto". In short overclocking + (some) auto settings = instability

If you don't know what voltages/settings need to be set, than yes, stop overclocking!

One other thing.... If your memory isn't getting enough voltage, even if you're not overclocked, you'll get memory errors. What does this mean... you may need to manually set your memory voltage in the BIOS to the memory's spec.

Example your Corsair 1600 memory modules require 1.65 volts, but the MB's "Auto" feature sets it to 1.5 volts. Well... your memory modules aren't getting enough voltage.

And yes, some boards DO set a default setting lower than the memory was designed to run. The bottom line here is to set the memory to what ITS voltage requirement is, not what the MB says! This is particulary true if you're overclocking!!!

My two cents.

Thanks for the quick replys!

Im not overclocking myself, by default in the BIOS there is a tab called "OC TWEAKER" and I havent changed anything on that. Everything in the BIOS is set to default.

So if i understand you right, I have to change everything in the BIOS from "auto" to a setting thats on my memory specs?

Im always a bit afraid that if i change something in my BIOS that my whole system will crash but now everything is default so I am willing to change xD

Oo and do i have to change ALL of the "auto" in the BIOS or just some?

Let me hear if i need to post screenshots from tabs in my BIOS cause I dont know what to change and what not.

Thanks in advance!

Messing about in the BIOS is a tricky affair. If you're unsure of the settings, leave them alone. However, If you have a clue, double check the voltage setting against the memory's spec and set them manually.

And no, not everything auto needs to be changed, but this is where experience comes in.

I brought up those issues in case you were overclocking or had an understanding of your BIOS settings. Again, If you don't understand them, leave them alone.

Hope this helps.

One last thing, if you have various posts on this issue as zigzag suggests, you need to stick to one and close the other. It can get vary confusing to those trying to help you.

Okay I've changed the DRAM voltage in the BIOS from auto to 1.594.

My memory specs say 1.5-1.6 so this value is okay right?

I also noticed this in the memory specs:

CL 7-7-7-16(CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS)

in the bios these values are:

8-8-8-18-59-8-4-4-4-20

everything is still on auto but i can change it to 7-7-7 etc.
and the DRAM Command Rate is also auto.

Should I change this to?

I also got some BSODs again AFTER changing the voltage.
0x0A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Is my RAM damaged or are the settings just wrong? Cause then Ill send them back to the store.

Thanks

This is where the danger of having too many post about the same issues come into play.

I believe zigzag has answered your question. Please see your other post for your answer.

Yes you could have a RAM problem, but I don't know what's been done or said in the other post. I don't even know where it is.

Again, you need to look there, and probably stick with that one seeing how zigzag has already attempted to help you. Plus he has way better experience with dump files than I do.

Sorry, and good luck.

Didnt you post the same dumps here and elsewhere. I analyzed them there and asked that you look there

Here, have you made threads on other sites??

In case you have not (despite the name) here is a repeat

You have a memory problem. Running memtest has shown us that. Here is the usual cause of the crash you had

One possible cause of this bug check is disk corruption. Corruption in the NTFS file system or bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk can induce this error. Corrupted SCSI and IDE drivers can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, thus causing the error.
Another possible cause is depletion of nonpaged pool memory. If the nonpaged pool memory is completely depleted, this error can stop the system. However, during the indexing process, if the amount of available nonpaged pool memory is very low, another kernel-mode driver requiring nonpaged pool memory can also trigger this error.

Of course you need to fix the memory problem and you might also want to run a chkdsk

CHKDSK /R /F:
Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as adminstrator) Command Prompt. Please do this for each hard drive on your system.
When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter. Then reboot and let the test run. It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors. See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.

Elevated Command Prompt:
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"

CHKDSK LogFile:
Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.
Double click on the Source column header.
Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).
Copy/paste the results into your next post.

last 2 days got some new BSODs:

0x0A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
0x1E
0x19 BAD_POOL_HEADER
0x50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Any results yet on my CHKDSK?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
0x0A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
0x1E
0x19 BAD_POOL_HEADER
0x50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I think all these are related to bad memory. These are what I got when my memory went bad. As ZIGZAG said RMA it back to OCZ. Seems as though there are a lot of people with bad memory from OCZ. I found one stick out of 3 to be bad. So went and bought some ram from a trusted manufacturer (Crucial).
