Hello everyone!

I'm reading Sevenforums for a long time but it was about time for me to post as well. Any suggestions/corrections on my post are welcomed :D

I hope fellow users to be able to bring ideas on the table as this is getting frustrated.
Unfortunately, I get random BSOD's in-game. Not in particular game thought. For example, in Diablo 3, after 30 mins of playing I hear a beep windows sound and when I try to alt-tab i get the BSOD. Not every time of course. Sometimes, it can take days in order to face the same problem. On other games, I get rarely a BSOD when I'm trying to Alt-Tab to check things like browsing! It can be happened on my 6th try or on 10th to alt-tab, it's totally random. At first, I thought it can be the typical Bad RAM (leak or something). Then the PSU is coming to its end or even the GFX. Anyway...

My custom build (everything on stock) is:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H (latest BIOS-F18)
CPU: I5 2500K
RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance@1333
GPU: GeForce 560GTX Ti 1GB (currently with 314.07 drivers)
PSU: FP-750W
Sound card: On-Board (for some reason I see 4xNvidia High Definition Audio + VIA High Definition Audio + MS Lifechat LX-3000 under the device manager) The LX-3000 is my headset.
HDD: 1. WD Black 640GB 2. Seagate 500GB 3. Seagate External USB3 500GB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
DirectX: Version 11
Keyboard: Logitech G15
Mouse: Logitech MX518

By using BlueScreenView I did find out the BSOD's are related with 3 different error codes (as you can see from the image below:

- 0x50 (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA)
- 0xA (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)
- 0x3B (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION)

View attachment 257733

And here is the SF file: View attachment 257735

I've tried some solutions, over the net, in order to identify the problem but it seems that I'm stuck. What I have tried so far without luck is:

- Format and re-installed windows
- Checked HDD's by HDD Sentinel result:no issues found
- run chkdsk result:no issues found
- Memtest for 7-8 passes result:no issues found
- Benchmarking with 3DMark 11 (on extreme settings) result:no issues found
- Tested PSU voltages with a multimeter or however is called by a friend result:no issues found

Probably,I have tried other things too but it can't come on my mind right now.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help!!!

regards,

Theodore

Hello Henador.

From your latest crashes, it is coming only one reason ..... ESET.

Uninstall ESET, as least as a test. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Let us know the result. I doubt that there may be some other things that is not being visible and causing problems ... so the feedback is really necessary for the further actions.

Cheer for the prompt reply.
Just to clarify...do you point out a specific dump for ESET or all of them are related with it? I'm asking cause I have no clue how to read the dump files, I wish I knew. From the dump file (BlueScreenView) dated 12/1/2013-03.02:33PM I was able to see 3 files: dxgkrnl.sys+ntoskrnl.exe+nvlddmkm.sys
The good news is that I have MalwareBytes but I'm not running it except once per month. I will try your suggestion though.
Thnx once more for your time!

BSView is not any real good way to debug.

Most of your dumps are silent, and in only one, in a deeper check, I obtained the failing ESET. What I have experienced that removing ESET may change the situation to better.

Hey Arc,

I wasn't very active over the last 2 weeks so no play for me.
Without the ESET anymore I got 2 BSOD's lately.

The first one on 10th - 0A - IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL
and the second one today (27th) - 3B - SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION.

Here is the SF file View attachment 261356. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure if the rumor, problematic combination, about the Gigabyte mobo's (77's) along with the 2500-2600 CPU's is true or not after all.

Thnx for the prompt reply!
I have downloaded the latest drivers and will redo the tests during the night (in order to achieve 8 passes) and come back to the results.
Did you see anything suspicious on the minidump by any chance?

Hello again,

After 12h I managed to get through 10 passes with no issues on MemTest and FurMark with 1920x1080 preset Burn-in test. Unfortunately, as expected :(
Any suggestions from the minidump?

In the crash dump, I am getting hal.dll and cdd.dll; so I am suspecting it as a hardware issue. I'd suggest you to take two more test.

But, it is stop 0x50.

Could not read faulting driver name
Probably caused by : win32k.sys ( win32k!MULTISURF::vInit+29 )

Followup: MachineOwner
---------
According to Carrona.Org, STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREAhttp://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#top
Usual causes: Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

So, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

I was familiar with Intel Burn Test (by oc) and a little bit with OCCT.

Intel Burn Test
Standard Test:
Maximum temperature : 58 degrees Celcius

High Test:
Maximum temperature : 60 degrees Celcius

Very High Test:
Time taken to complete : ~9mins
Maximum temperature : 61 degrees Celcius

The results on all 3 were clean with no issues. i'm attaching the very high

GPU Stress Test
I did run the test for 1h, 1920x1080 and with shader complexity on 8. RESULT: No issues found

GPU Memory Test
I did run the test for 10 passes RESULT: No issues found

For your convenience, here is the full info of the results

DRIVER VERIFIER
I did run Driver Verifier but while restarting the OS is crashing on desktop. 3 attemps brought 3 crashes. C9 is the the code. I had to use Restore system in order to start back on normal.

I'm sorry but now I'm kinda confused.
The dump you have posted is the one from Bioshock correct?

The 3 dumps I got today were while I had DV enabled. I couldn't go into OS without a BSOD (C9). Only on Safe Mode. Therefore, I had to use the system restore. What shall I do then? How Can I use DV without getting a BSOD?
Thank you once more!

That bioshock is not any important info. What I got is your current BSODs are C9, that means what we are searching for is about to achieve (In the zip I got stop 0x50).

Enable DV again. Make it sure that you are not selecting any driver provided by "microsoft" or "unknown". Hopefully you will be able to collect a C9 or C4 crash dump.

Best of luck :)

Unfortunately, I can't log into Win7 normal mode with DV. It is always crashing with C9...
Right now I'm writing on safe mode :p

In safe mode, disable DV.
Log on to normal mode again, clean up all the startup entries other than the antivirus, follow the last instruction to enable DV.

Hopefully it will work.

Sorry for the stupid question but by "clean up the startup entries" you mean the DV or msconfig (startup items)?
