Well, test the system with normal usage. I haven't checked the diff in specs between onboard graphics vs the card but just see how far you get. It is not about the quality of a game or its graphics now, it is about your HW setup being stable...

Test and run normal for a day or two. If you get no more crashes... think about replacing the card.

I'd first test with onboard graphics. That rules out your card AND the mobo slot it was in. If you are sure that works...then you can try the second card and see if that runs ok. If it does...then probably the slot (and that second card) is ok too and it would look like your primary card ( the 6950) is indeed faulty.

It is starting to look like a mobo problem. You've been switching cards in (I presume) the same slot?
Did you have a good look at that slot? Is it clean and are all connecting strips neat?
Do you have a second slot that you could try?

Have had no cards in the pci slot since yesterday, and yeah its the same one. i booted up today and just had a black screen when i logged in saying a critical error had occoured windows was about to reboot. then it rebooted, and blue screened. Guess that rules out a faulty card? Think your right about the motherboard. Here are the dumps.

Also is there any way we can be sure it's the motherboard, i was hoping that the fact ive ran prime 95, and memtest for very long periods and taken the gpu out would rule of them out?

Only the highlighted one. Don´t you have a wired lan that you could temporarily use?

Test for a while and hope this is it. If it is... we'll try to update drivers

I dont unfortunately, i have removed all of the software and drivers, restarted and installed the latest, the wireless adapter was the last thing i added before i started getting the blue screens. If i get another blue screen, i will remove all of it and leave it.

Scroll to the middle to see...

And don't know how you managed to but it is the oldest possible driver:
HTML:
wacommousefilter.sys Fri Feb 16 19:12:17 2007 (45D5F401)

If it ran well until you had to install this again.. you have your answer. Have a go at forcing an update of the drivers, if that doesn't work, check in with Wacom for newer and maybe W7 compatibility.

Did you try to update in Device manager, not letting it find its own but directing it to the file on your HDD?

no. In Devicemanager choose to update driver and then choose to search on local harddisk (browse manually) .
See if it will update them to the 2010 ones if you locate these.

Ahh okay, sorry. Scanned all of my HDD still says they're up to date

If i remember correctley it was the 2007 mousefilter.sys causing the problems, maybe now thats updated to 2010 it should fix the problem.

Was there anything up with ntoskrnl.exe?
