Hello,

Hoping you guys can help me out again; I thought I had fixed my BSODs but a week or so later, they are back. However, they seem to happen more frequently out of game now; sometimes when I only have 1 Word doc open, others when I'm on chrome, or even with it just sitting there. I ran driver verifier and it pointed to a realtek hd audio driver, so I uninstalled it and installed an updated version. That driver has not been the cause since, but I do get weird popping noises in my speakers (like someone plugging in a headset) when I first start using the machine. The next bsod/driver verifier was my wireless lan card. I rolled it back. Still getting bsods though. Any help would be seriously appreciated; I am at the point where I want to just wipe it and reinstall, but I'd really rather not if there is an apparent issue. I've also noticed that games that I could run without any issues now seem to have a bit of lag tot hem; I'm not sure if it's connected, but it seems plausible.

Attached dump and dt grab

Thanks!

Hello ellecdwt .

Can you uninstall Trend Micro (at least as a test) and let us know if it is still BSODing or not?

As you have one nice antivirus (MSE) already installed, you dont need anything more. Moreover, using more than one real time protection program causes various issues including severe system vulnerability to any kind of threat.
Code:

Ah, I will try that. I only had MSE, and I was aware that more than one can cause issues, but had a few programs installed recently and that one must have slipped by me. I will post an update after uninstalling it. Thanks

Actually, I don't see that I have it on my computer. I searched for it an some old dead shortcuts popped up, so I removed those, but Trend Micro isn't in my program list or showing up in search.

Okay, so I ran that uninstaller first, when I went into the drivers folder tmtdi.sys was still there so i deleted it, but the other 2 were not in the folder. They were probably removed by the uninstaller, correct?

Now upload your MSINFO32.nfo file so that we can check and confirm the uninstallation.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

Okay, here is the attachment. I had begun a Win 8 upgrade and had a bsod after uninstalling the blucomm bluetooth which windows said was incompatible with win 8. I've also attached the dump from that crash.

One shortcut is still there.
Code:
Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security Elle-PC\Elle:Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security Elle-PC\Elle
If you upgrade it to windows 8, and get crashes, close this thread by marking it solved, post your issue in BSOD Crashes and Debugging - Windows 8 Forums and post following the instructions, not your analysis as a text documents. Analysts will want to analyze themselves.

But as windows says it is not compatible, try in compatibility mode, or leave it.

Okay, I removed that last shortcut. I had a bsod during the win8 install and it failed and restored to 7. I'm guessing I should probably try and fix this issue before attempting again. I've attached another dt zip file

There is no specific reason for a BSOD apparently other than the existence of driver verifier enabled.
Code:
DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VERIFIER_ENABLED_VISTA_MINIDUMP
Driver verifier makes the system unstable, crash prone on purpose. It is not to use if it is not really needed.

Disable DV, by following the Option two of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html .

Is it still crashing?

oh wow, I must've spaced and not turned it off after using it before. I've turned it off and will see if any more crashes take place. I will be stoked if that was the only issue!

Okay, so I have not had another bsod yet, but I tried to upgrade to win 8 again twice and I keep getting a DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER error and it reverts to Win 7. Is this a related issue to my bsod problems or not?

So I had another crash. It didn't blue screen, but the pc froze making that terrible noise it sometimes makes when it bsods. I don't know if a crash was made or not, there isn't a mini dump, but here is the sfd zip
