I just switched from XP to 7 and my specs should be up on my public profile. When ever I watch a video or play a game for more than 10 minutes my computer BSODs.

I've uploaded my minidump folder as a *.zip. I think I've provided enough information, but I am a novice, so I will appreciate any help you can give me.

With thanks,

Sam

Hi sam and welcome

Well the good news is all the dmps are the same. the probable cause is called a double fault. usually associated with memory or hardware.

" Memory corruption, Hardware (memory in particular), Installing a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or a failure after installing it, Device drivers, SCSI/network/BIOS updates needed, Improperly seated cards, Incompatible storage devices, Overclocking, Virus scanner, Backup tool, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack"

so I would
download and install memtestx86 for 5 passes
if you are overclocking or have changed the ram voltage dont
the hardware issue you have to read and see if they apply to you.

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.

I've tried updating all my drivers, Memtest hasn't found anything (I may be using it wrong, I don't think so though). I don't think it's faulty hardware as it all worked fine under XP and I've had more BSODs in the last few days than I ever had under XP. I'm not overclocking. My virus scanner is AVG free 9.0.

I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'm just regretting ever swapping over to windows 7.
