BU/Recovery disk transfer to another sys?

I succeeded in destroying my Dell laptop ... left on the gate of my pickup...don't even ask
I am looking at maybe building a system as laptops and Tom don't work well together.
Question is - if I build a system will I be able to use my recovery disks with the OS on them and transfer to the new system?
The system was Win7 - 64 bit.

If not it may squelch that idea from cost basis as Win7 is just more $$$

Afraid not mate, the lappy OS/disks are forever tied to the lappy and can't be moved at all.

Thank ya for the info ,,,,,, kinda blows holes in my option to build. Now it'll be a clunker from the box for an extra 50% ......what ya gonna do.
