Bug (?): Outlook indexing

Software: Outlook 2010

Problem: Emails in the deleted folder do not get indexed.

Question: How can this behavior be fixed?

Please, don't waste your time and make comments about the need to find emails in the deleted folder.

Please, don't waste your time and make comments about the need to find emails in the deleted folder.
Check the box for "include messages from deleted items folder..." found in Tools > Instant Search > Search Options:

Where can one find this options window? The closest thing I have found under Outlook 2010 is the one shown below, and what appears to be the corresponding box has been checked.

Ah - I hadn't taken on board that you were using Outlook 2010. My screenshot is from Outlook 2007.

I suppose also that enabling "search" in the deleted items might not necessarily lead to indexing of items located there.

Looks like I might have shot myself in both feet :(

No matter, a genuine expert is bound to stop by soon :)
