Bug with solid color backgrounds

If you're the type to prefer a seriously minimal desktop—so much so that you choose a solid-color desktop over setting a custom wallpaper—you may be wondering why-oh-why Windows 7 takes so long to boot your machine.

I don't know if you guys already know this but I didn't. This will be a problem for some who think Windows 7 is taking too long to start..........

Personally? I can't think of anything more depressing and somewhat nerdly, than a solid color desktop. But for those who don't share my disdain for such, I'm sure glad there's a fix for the slow booting problem.

That's interesting. I wonder if there are other factors or if you should try another background and see if Windows boot up any faster. It sounds like you're not being affected so there may be other factors that make this "bug" a problem.

For some applications, a solid color destop is the only serious way to go, specifically a medium gray (RGB: 127,127,127) is very useful when attempting to edit the color cast of photos.
