Build 7057 Computer management problem

when i right click "computer" and then choose "manage" i get the following error:

i went to the specified folder and the file opens OK from there.
also it's associated properly in the default programs control panel.

i must mention the i upgraded to this build from build 7000.

ok, but did you upgraded (and from what version)
or installed a fresh copy?

what do you mean?
of course i did restart a 1000 times since installing this build.
i also tried to clean REG with TuneUp utilities 2009.

thins is, the program itself (computer management) is working fine
from the original location, but not from the "shortcut" from right click on computer>>>manage.

I'm not sure but I think this is related to the services. Start Task Manager and check which service relates to managing drives and activate it. Sorry if I sound uncertain but I see no harm trying that tack, maybe you can have something to Google on.

i had the same problem with build 7048 but only after i made some changes using vista manager the only way i fixed it was to do a system restore back to before i made the changes i never did figure out what happened and i have build 7057 now but haven't tried it yet did you try tweaking it and is that when the problem started

no, no tweaking, it started to happen right after i upgraded to 7057.
you know, build 7000 was flawless

If you underwent the registry cleaning with the Vista Manager's "Registry Cleaner"
without registry backup, you would meet such problem if the Win 7 build no. be 7022
, 7048, and 7057.

1. Which part of the Vista Manager's "Registry Cleaner" will cause this problem?
That is : Search Invalid File Type.

2. Which related/ useful registries will be removed by the above function?
a. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\explore\command
b. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\opennewprocess\command
c. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\opennewwindow\command

If you really take the Vista Manager as your optimizing utility, I believe this information
will remind you how to be away from this problem.

And, if.....if you really use that software, I will be glad to discuss that with you.

Why not try TCP-Z V.2.5?

thank you it tried but got the same result as with 20090108 after i apply the patch it won't connect i have narrowed it down to MTU and tcp receive window when MTU is set to 1500 and the Receive is set to 256960 i get around 60KBs out of it and the download speed slows down which i can live with

the shortcut itself opens just fine.

upgraded to build 7068, everything works just fine now
no problms at all.

This is the kind of thing you can expect to see in unreleased Beta builds folks...it's an inevitability that you'll get these little bugs in all the builds.

well i have something else bugging' me.

when i go to screen resolution and change the refresh rate to 60HZ instead of 59 the
setting doesn't change.
it always stay 59HZ.
i have ATI 4870 with catalyst 9.13 installed.
i think with 9.12 it was ok.
is there a registry hack i can do to set the refresh rate on 60 no matter what?
or delete the 59HZ setting to not show up in the wizard?
