What sound card do you have, i had problems with all builds and my old soundblaster live! platinum, but have fixed it with kxproject drivers.

My XFi extremeMusic works fine in 7057. Have you tried Daniel_K's XFi support pack?

I have the Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer Soundcard with the latest drivers from creative's support website.
Edit: After trying that support pack, I still have no luck. I may take out my soundcard, get windows audio to be recognized again, then re insert my sound card, and go from there.
