I installed the most recent version of Win 7 7229 on my vertex 60Gb V 1.3 SSD the other night and after the first reboot the bios stopped when trying to discover the drive which is on '0'. The bios is set to AHCI (as it has always been with previous builds). If I change it to IDE then the drive is recognised and things go smoothly from there although the drive transfer rate in windows experience has dropped from 7.3 to 6.8. I have reflashed my bios but still the problem remains. I've swapped the leads round on my HD's but it still hangs when it reaches the Vertex drive.
Can anyone shed any light on what might have happened

This happened to me a few builds back and a common problem i think. i just leave mine on IDE. I think it happens with an upgrade but not sure.

When doing a clean install and creating a partition for windows, after formatting the system drive you have to format the 100mb drive that is created as well. Now my hard drive disk tranfere rate has gone back up to 7.3 in windows experience
