building a laptop

i was interested in possbily building a laptop. How do you go about doing this? Is it just like building a desktop? By that i mean, would i just buy the laptop case, a motherboard, ram, an hdd, and disc drive? Or is it different then that? Cause i cant seem to find a place online that sells empty laptop cases, so im wondering if im wrong about how you do it?

You don't build a laptop, you just buy one. Sometimes you can get upgrades for it, but it's rare.

If your looking for high end hardware in a laptop your looking at big bucks. There is no "white box" aka buy your laptop parts from anywhere and build your own. You can only get a "custom" build from the big box guy Dell, HP and etc.
