I would hold off on the assurances. You may get it to work, but you may have to jump through some hoops... like a bios upgrade? Your kit ( PGV34G1333ELK) is not on Biostar's memory support list: BIOSTAR :: TH55B HD :: Memory Support

These are the sticks from Patriot they approve: PSD32G16002 ddr3 1600 & PVT33G1333LLK ddr3 1066.

They might work, since they aren't on the motherboard memory support list, there's the possibility that it will be difficult or they may not work at all.

Be sure to check the RMA procedures or the policies at the store or shop you bought them from.

You seem to be doing this out of order. When I build a new system I first select the Motherboard and CPU then get the RAM and GPU. Then I can get the correct PSU and drives that will work with that board. But that's just me.

The i5-750 is a very nice CPU.

The i5-760 just came out and is the replacement for the i5-750, last time I checked it was about $10 more.

Don't be concerned as the i5-750 is really good, I am thoroughly enjoying mine.

Just some info to consider.

What motherboard did you decide to get?

+1 Ken, that's the correct order to plan a build.
Makes everything much easier to decide.

That should be a good motherboard.

That motherboard recommended RAM list doesn't list your RAM.

The Patriot PGV34G1333ELK site does say: Tested on Intel® 5 chipset.

Lot's of people use RAM that is not on the recommended list with no problems, but also, many people do have problems with incompatible RAM.

It depends on a lot of things, MOBO, CPU, RAM, memory controller, BIOS, all depends on how they get along.

You can try it, if you have any issues Patriot is good about RMA.

Let us know how the build goes.

Ken

I have built more then 100 pc's over time and I think Ken is right on.

Also, unless you read a benchmark online you will have to piece them together and cross your fingers for a post beep. If you don't post then you have your work cut out.

I would say it really depends on the motherboard and getting a bad stick of RAM. A bad stick of RAM can confuse you into believing that both the motherboard and ram are bad !-) amongst other things.

My best experience in pieceing together a system is when I used all SLI approved hardware and case.

Dave is absolutely right, this should be a nice setup. ;)

Don't put too much weight on whether or not a specific model number is on the board manufacturers approved list. Technically DDR3 is DDR3 and not manufacturer specific. As long as you're purchasing familiar and proven brands like Corsair, GSkill, Crucial and so on, you won't have any problems.

Too many times the recommended list is really a "buddy" list... Good luck with the build.
