Building a new PC

Hi, i am going to be building a new PC to get some experience and as well as something to do. This is going to be the first time i am doing something like this, so i would appreciate any recommendations.
I need to think about the power supply and the compability with the hard ware.:)

Here is the check list

If i need to add something to my checklist please tell me!

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
CPU: i5 or i7 (2.4 and above)
Storage: 2 Storage Devices ( 1 for the operating system, 2 for games and other files)
Graphics: Atleast 1GB nVidia or AMD
RAM: 4GB

All fans PWM; speeds at idle: CPU circa 500 rpm; intake circa 600 rpm; exhaust circa 600 rpm; CPU temps 27 idle and 47 C load in a warm room (27 C/81 F) when running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.
the first thing to do when building a computer is set a budget. Then decide what you want this machine to do for you, and how long before you want to replace it or any of its major components.

For a decent gaming machine i would say at least 1000 usd.

Let me know when you have a budget and what you plan to do with this machine and ill help guide you through the component selection process.
