Got a free motherboard from a promotion by a local store. Its a Foxconn G31mxp-k. Its a new edition though.
I have a perfectly capable Corei7 build I currently use. I will not be stealing parts from this.
I also have a new Socket 478 build on a new biostar P4 board that has (2 x 1GB) DDR2 memory, but IDE Hard drives and DVD writers. It has a new coolermaster elite case (331) with a Corsair 650TX PSU.
I have an old ATI Wonder Pro ATI Tv tuner card.
I have lots of mice/keyboards and monitors.
I can get a Q9550 for $169+tax. (Or a E5300 for $59.95+tax. or etc...)
I don't really have a use for another computer, other than maybe for a PVR?
I only have $200~$250 to spend on this. What should I do? Should I sell the free board, and buy a video card for the Socket 478 build and just use it? Or hack it apart and build a newer system?
I have Windows Xp and an upgrade to Win 7 Pro also. I prefer win 7 pro, but the socket 478 is currently running Xp.
