IMO it seems a bit buggy (could be my GFX driver, could be Windows Se7en). It's just a replacement for the desktop and when clicking items they sort of jutter about. They also move quite strangely when dragging (twist & rotate ).

Not my scene really, but could to others liking :)

I'm personally not to fond of it, but there are definitely some interesting concepts here. Check out this video on engadget for a better idea of its functionality.

yhea i think the same, the idea behind it is great, but that 3D desktop isn't really the solution

but the documents that stack themselves in piles is pretty cool, and the drag en drop ....

Hey Orbital, I take it the jittery and spinning is meant to be part of the 3D and physical experience. I would assume they have a setting to adjust that though. If not, they seem to love feedback.

Grimm, the point is to give a more "intuitive" experience and more gestures oriented. I could see it be really useful on tablet pcs and smartboard type devices. Less need for the keyboard interaction and such. Additionally from what I can research, it'll support multitouch input. That will be a revolution in computing equivelant to the introduction of the mouse.

In multiuser environments on the same computer and input device (think large smartboards and the like), this type of UI could be useful.

Good luck FreakyFerret, i also said that I wasn't for me & might appeal to others. The juttering was as standard on an app that IMO only appears to render your desktop in a sort of 3D outfit LOL.
