Burning problem

I have 2 optical drives
1. LITE-ON's DVD R/RW SOHW-1633S
2. LG's HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10L

When I try to burn data files to a DVD+R DL, I do get a progress bar & info, but halfway through the 'burn' stops & exits. Nothing gets burned & the disc is still usable. This happens when using either drive.

Wondering if the drives only take certain types of DVD+R DL media. I am using a Memorex disc (don't usually use Memorex, but it's what I have right now) & trying to burn using 7 Pro 64Bit's own burn utility.

Though that is not the problem at the moment. What I'd like to solve is this:
Since the files did not burn, how do I get rid of the small yellow lock that is now showing on them? I now have some info I need to add to a few of these files, but can I w/the lock in place?

Right click the file(s), Take Ownership. It should work now.

Also try opening the drive used to attempt burn, then Delete the files Ready to Burn

I'm not using any program, just 7's internal utility. I am going to try either
1. ImgBurn
2. Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite
3. Roxio Creator 2011 Pro

Britton30:
I didn't save the files anywhere else, so I don't want to go the deletion route. I'll try the Take Ownership route.

Does ImgBurn burn only images/will it burn normal, everyday files as well? Why is there now a lock on these files anyway?

I think the lock is because ownership changed, somehow. Cut those files and paste somewhere else, then copy back to the original location.
