Why You Should Never Pick a Risqué File Name

A pedophile took his laptop to a Best Buy to have it looked over for a DVD issue and apparently, during a malware scan, some file names raised flags with the technician, namely a file 'childporn.jpg'

What was interesting was the belief that privacy had been violated by the pedophile with regards to his computer.

I highly doubt that the staffer stumbled upon the file when they were doing a malware scan. It was when they went to search for *.jpg to look for pictures they found this....and that would be an invasion of privacy.

some staffers usualy look up in the pc / laptop even if they don't have any right to do that.. just curiosity but still it's a invasion of privacy.

look at the bright side he discovered a pedophile!

thats true too.. he got lucky... but now im sure that all other pedophiles will avoid this so this will probably be the only time..

i dont think that a judge will be stupid to sentence him to prison for this. its true that what he did was against the law but he got a pedophile... evry parent would be against the judge who would sentence somevone who just broght a pedophile behind bars...

In over a quarter century of computer ownership, I've never had the misfortune to need to take a computer in for repair. Because of that, it never occurred to me that the repair person might be unscrupulous and pry into my private files. I'm glad that I have the skills to make sure that I don't need to risk my private data be viewed by a repair person.

A few years back, my sister asked me to fix her computer. In the course of testing her computer, I opened some of her doc files to test they could be read. When I gave her the computer back, she accused me of reading her private files!
