Buying A New Graphics Card
Hey guys, I think I am ready to buy a new Graphics Card for my Acer TravelMate 5520 laptop. The one I currently have is the
ATI Radeon Express 1250.
This is the one that came with my laptop and don't think it is really good enough anymore.
Could anybody give me a few suggestions of any good Graphics Cards that will fit my laptop.
I am looking for improvement on the last Card but I don't really want to be spending too much money.
More info look at the attached picture.

You need a gfx card that is compatible with the MXM II standard.

That's good because even if you could find one you wouldn't like the price. Also in most laptops the GPU is integrated or soldered to the motherboard and can not be changed. For the few that do happen to have the card socketed or in a slot it still isn't as easy as changing the video card in a desktop. You also can't just walk into any computer shop and buy one.
For the most part if you want a better graphics card in a laptop you have to buy a new laptop.

Google the laptops model along with how to change gfx card. I'm sure a bunch of links will show saying yes or no. The only real way to ensure a laptop with a changing gfx card is a dell, dare I say it. MXM is much harder to come by.

Or you could just call tech support and get a definitive answer. Eliminates the guesswork.

I'm pretty certain that his model has an MXM II slot. He should be able to upgrade his card if he likes.

Haha I like that one, I searched the internet and couldn't find anything. Might give it a try by looking in the manual, then as a last resort I shall call Tech Support.
