Buying A RAM

have 50$ spare and a socket too..!!
so gonna buy a RAM DDR3..
Please guide me to the best ram possible under the price tag...
I have G.skill 4Gb DDR3 :devil::devil::devil:already installed...
See my system specs for details...

i have a HP-Dv6 also can i change its RAM ..?? it has 4Gb-DDR3 too..
any suggestions..??!!!?? Suppose a Gaming RAM..

I'd double check whether adding an extra 2Gb to your board will knock it out of 'dual channel mode (synchronous)' into 'single channel mode (asynchronous')

If it reverts to single channel, it can theoretically hurt performance.


As for cash - how much do you want to spend and what do you really want to achieve?

You need to look up what kind of ram you have in your computer now. You can do so with a program like Speccy. Once you've downloaded the program run it and take a screenshot (Alt+Printscreen) of the RAM page. The important parts are whether or not you have dual channel, the type (DDR3 for me), the max bandwidth (PC3-8500[533] for me) and the clocks (7-7-7-20 for me).

They are right why bother with cracked copies it is just a long big ole headache didn't anyone learn that from the super cracked xp pro ?

besides that you can use cpu-z to find out ram settings or am i wrong pleease corret me but here is a file to check lol oopsy i just remembered you are running 32 bit os this might not work you are on 32 bit anyway you can go to DOWNLOAD.COM get a version ( THAT ISN'T PIRATED ) and check your specs

Oh I agree and understand that but refuse to use xp on m ymachines also as it's nearly decade old OS! and that's just too old! so 7 for me, even if I am poor afterwards :S

You can always go to crucial and do a RAM scan and it will tell you everything you need and prices. Don't pirate though, windows can detect it anyways.

Yes, that is a valid point. Not everybody sees or gets value from spending money on the new operating system. I think that some people will simply forgo security patches in the future rather than spend money on an OS. They will simply get their new OS when they purchase a new computer.
