I am well aware of how much 190 euros is, but the bottom line is that if you want to upgrade Windows you'll have to pay more money and you will have to activate the upgrade.

If you don't like or don't want to use the automated system then you would have to speak with Microsoft's activation personnel.

As I said, I just don't see why you're so against activation. Either you accept the situation or forget the upgrade, but ranting on a forum helps no-one, least of all yourself.

I have nothing against activation that is something that's needed i just hate the phone thing which is in my opnion not automated there is still human answering the qustions that recorded voice asks anyway found something interesting

• Kopen pakket

Translated to English that would be:

• purchase activation key
• purchase package

Yes the second option charges extra that is true.It should state that windows will need to be reactivated by phone.This discussion is useless

All Windows need activating even if the Product Key is inserted earlier - either manually from SysTray or Control Panel>System, or using the automated method when WIn7 goes online if it is offered.

The nag message usually suffices to get it done but if it is ignored then user will start losing functionality.

Can you access the UK Amazon site? If you can, and could live with an English Win7, these are the alternates:

* Win 7 Pro, OEM, £103:70.
* Win7 Pro, FULL RETAIL, £156:10.

* Ultimate, FULL RETAIL, £155:99.

Here in the UK, we have the same problem with prices in $US. An item that may be $100 usually comes to us at £100, for example. This is something we have always resented. It's business. It's American, and the business of America is business.

Many of those "auto-location detection" sites go by your ISP, so you most likely could direct your fury towards them and not Microsoft.

hi folks,

I Decided togo ahead and i purchased a wau from home premium to Ultimate.The purchase whas done in less then 5 minutes but i did receive the message indicating "Windows Anytime Upgrade whas not successfull" but i learned through experience todo my research first as explained here http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/95744-windows-anytime-upgrade-how.html all i needed todo whas manually reboot and the process did continue allthough microsoft may fix that bug (not a rant this time) it's simply annoying and might confuse newer users.Windows 7 does state in the activation section it is not activated and automatic activation will be attempted in 2 days (or something like that) clicking the "activate now" link activates windows online
