Hi all
another old favorite's time has come
Up to Rel 6 this was a GREAT program -even R7 was tolerable but now so much BLOAT and it doesn't even have the ISO virtual Image mounter any more.

Anyway It's now Binned.

(Note to any budding developers -- NERO will become a CLASSIC in future of a perfect example of how to RUIN a very good product which at the time was the clear market leader).

Keep to the core functionality and avoid HUGE "FEATUREITUS".

For burning ISO's the built in W7 burning program is excellent otherwise there's great FREE / cheap alternatives.

The W7 program doesn't give "Calibration Errors" and burns (and verifies) where Nero just gives up.

Ultra iSO is also a good one -- but loads of others and they have a Virtual ISO mounter too.

Cheers
jimbo

I traded in Nero for Ultra ISO a couple of years ago. I do like Nero Vision for a down and dirty, but still useful, video editor.

Ditto. Nero fiddles Ultra rules

i ditched nero a while back also - but as Antman said, nero vision was/is pretty good for making custom dvds, and had a half decent (if somewhat flakey) menu editor too...

i tried a few freebie alternatives - i liked cdburnerxp for a while, but then it started bugging me, and i just couldn't stand imgburn, so i had to spend some money on ashampoo burning studio 9, which does pretty much all i want - but i do still miss nero vision...sigh..

IMGBurn and CDBurnerXP Pro are now my burning softwares of choice. I never should have purchased Nero. Now I combine those two with the built-in functionality of Windows 7, and wow.
