C Drive Full, Need Help

Hi,

I have installed window 7 32 bit on my laptop, now C/: drive has been full about 98%. and my LAPTOP D/: drive has lots space. i have tried to merge d/: blank space by disk management but its space could not add in C/;

Request to you kindly help

We are getting a rash of this type of problem lately. I've got to make a copy of my answer so that I don't retype all of the time.

Anyway,
Step 1:
Download, install and run CCleaner
CCleaner

Step 2:
Run the built-in disk cleaner, namely, CleanMgr.exe.
You can also run this program by:
WIN | type Disk Cleanup | ENTER
WIN is the key with the wavy flag.
Let's see if I can find the excellent tutorial on using Disk Cleanup.

Step 3:
Delete temp files.
WIN E key combo | Enter key | type %temp% in that long bar at the top | CTRL A key combo to select all | right-click on a selected file and choose Delete | choose Skip if explorer says it can't delete a file

There are a couple more tricks but let us know if this solves the problem.

Hi, Sanjay.
Use a Software called Acronis Partition Expert.

You can also try moving your "Documents", photos, etc to your other drive/partition.

You may be able to move your page file and pick up a few more gigs.

there are a few more options for freeing up space.. go to windows/software distribution/download and delete everything in that file.. go to windows/temp and do the same.. some other folders that can be cleaned out safely are users/[your username]/local/temp, users/../appdata/(any folder name of anything that has been uninstalled)
you can turn hibernation off to free up a GB or so... but what would solve you problem.. assuming
c, d, and e are all partitions on the same HDD is to delete the E partition, in disk management, then download gparted and burn it to a CD or use uNetbootin to install it on a flash drive... boot to gparted and use that to shrink D, move it to the right, and expand C..

Thats what i told you.
Windows wont let you extend your OS partition you have to use a Third Party Software.
Its called Acronis partition Expert Click here to Download
