C drive is always taking 150 Gb after shrink for my HP LAPTOP

I have created new hard drive by shrinking but after shrinking my C drive is occupying near around 150 though it is using only 40 GB so i want to allocate only 70 GB and rest for a new drive.
and one more thing after shrinking my all hard drive became dynamic simple volume previously it was Basic volume. will I face any problem for that?

Any suggestion welcome !!!

Hi sanpaul

first you created new partition (not HD). How did you shrink the current partition (what application)?

can you make a snapshot of your HD configuration and upload it to us?

Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD to see how much more it will Resize your WIn7 drive smaller.

Make a Win7 Repair CD to have on hand since you only have Recovery Disks and may need it for possible repair. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html

Be sure to back up your files first and perhaps a Win7 backup image as resizing operations can fail, although we have not had one fail yet with PW CD.
