Do one more thing ..... upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

1. Click on the start button
2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall the program at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

• Double click to open it.
• Click this button only:
• 
• If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

MagicIso does not use SPTD, but as it also makes a disc Image emaluator, better you dont use that feature. Almost all kind of disc image emaluators are problematic, today or tomorrow.

As you are getting network blockage, Better you dont use NetLimiter or Net Balancer, specially dont place NetLimiter at startup. Free up the startup.

1. Click on the Start button
2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
3. Select the “Startup” tab.
4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
5. Apply > OK
6. Accept then restart.

Spyware .... how many have you noticed, if you use the internet fairly? Two programs fro spyware protection? No need. They are also network killer. Uninstall them. Uninstall Avira using Avira AntiVir Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.


After doing all those, let us know the situation ....

I did most of the things from the above mentioned list. I have some reasons for not replacing Avira with MSE, but don't worry; I will be safe from viruses.
And the boot time is well; I ran the Restart-Time vb script and got 88 seconds, which sound quite fair to me.

I think the intent isn't so much that "MSE is better, use that instead", but that there may be bugs inherent in the Avira AV software that are nonexistent in MSE (the same could be true other way around too of course). So the desire is to switch AV solution to see if things stabilize.

Okay, I am back with problems.
I had run WDO scan the other day; quick scan was cool and then I had run full scan too; though it got stuck at some moment (looking at the bar I can say about 60% was done). I restarted and ran the scan again, but same thing occurred. Then I went to sleep and other day it slipped out of my mind and I forgot to notify ya about it. :|

Now since you recommended to use another AV, I installed Avast when I ran full scan, my PC went slow when it progressed to about 65%, and there was a moment when PC froze. That occurred thrice, at 1st crash I waited, and after few minutes, the PC rebooted by it's own before I saw a glance of black screen with random white thick lines. When it happened again, I didn't wait and rebooted the PC. On third time I tried to look which directory was being scanned, and it said - c:\..\77_39dec...... a big string, mixture of numbers and alphabets.

I'll be running a boot time scan, while you can look into this again and tell me about the possibilities. lol
Also, if it doesn't work, I will install MSE.

PS: I remember, while I ran MBytes scan when PC was back to normal speed, PC went damn slow at some moment, but everything got back to normal in a while.

The file it's hitting is either a dummy file created by a corrupt filesystem (I take it you've ran CHKDSK and Seatools so far), or is actually a viral file that is causing a deadlock when attempting to access since it's already infected the system. In which case Arc's recommendation of using the rescue disk is noteworthy, since you'll need to take care of this potential infection outside of the Windows OS environment. I recommend doing a CHKDSK first if you haven't already just in case it isn't some filesystem fluke.

I ran Kaspersky Disc Rescue's scan and it detected nothing. I had selected everything for scanning.
And yes, I did run CHKDSK and SeaTools earlier when ya both recommended to.

I ran CHKDSK again, I did it 4 times:
First attempt - I did it using Drive tools, in properties. I restarted and it said something like "Volume is clean"; nothing was scanned and PC rebooted.
2 - I did it using the .reg(registry file that was available for download on that link), the scan started, and the PC rebooted in very less time and I felt like it wasn't complete yet.
3 - So again I scheduled it using drive tools, and this time I scheduled it twice. The scan now started and this one took good amount of time. If I am not wrong it took about 1.5 hours.
4 - Since I scheduled it twice, after rebooted the chdsk screen flashed again, and I got that same message... something like "Volume is clean"

Gotta run Avast again to check if the problem is gone. Also, just scanning the Windows dir tell if that problem is gone? I don't have much time as of now, so if a Full Scan is necessary, I will only be able to do it tomorrow.

PS: After 1st attempt of chkdsk, when PC booted, I got this message:

Just got it once yet, don't know if it's related with current issue, but if it appears again I might re-install Avast or just switch to another AV.

This worries me further. While it just seems like Avast is messing up somehow, the error code it presented exhibits something even worse: The I/O device reported an I/O error. This means a device involved in I/O (very sure it's a storage device) could not perform the operation of taking its contents and putting it into memory because it experienced a particular issue.

I'm sorry but this just incriminates the drive even further. If the hard drive itself is reporting problems, it's time to replace. Now, personally I think it's odd that an instruction is referencing itself (shouldn't really do that), but there's still just something going on here involving disk I/O that's messing up, and the drive itself seems to be to blame.

Okay, I will try taking backups on weekly basis...incase if the HDD fails. I don't think I will buy one soon.

Ok, just making sure you realize if the drive goes down, the system is unusable, so I assume you have a spare system to work on under the condition the drive goes bad.

Every HDD dies differently, some start getting very sluggish, others start corrupting data more and more frequently, and others just plain kick the bucket. It really depends on what actually failed internally on the drive, be it the head motor, the drive motor, or the controller board.

As for marking this as solved, only you can do that, skipper, so mark as solved at your discretion.

A fix for this that STILL works

I find that if you get this problem it is really quite easy to fix sadly.

Step 1.

Turn Off Computer Fully Then Turn Back On.

Step 2.

As soon as it loads hit which ever button to open startup menu. For mine it is "Esc"

Step 3.

Hit F9 or which ever key loads "Startup Options"

Step 4.

Choose "Load from Ethernet" (or anything like that )(you do not need an Ethernet chord for this)

Step 5.

Chose "Run Windows Normally"

Step 6.

Done!
