Both look like ethernet cables, hard to tell if they are regular or cross-over.
Second pic is slightly blurry. Pic of end connector would be better.

They are ethernet cables. You use a crossover cable to connect alike nodes, such as a network card to a network card. A straight through is used to connect to your modem to receive the internet and to connect your network etc.

I was looking at a video and the guy said that the wires are different on one end of the cable. I took a look and they are the same on both sides.

Rather late to this party, but I have one of these cables (about 2 meters long), and it looks to support 10/100 ethernet, like a cat 5 cable. Usually, only two of the 4 pairs in an ethernet cable actually see traffic, those being the orange pair and the green pair. I'm using it right now to post this. And streaming a radio station from Perth Australia. Means either it is half a cat 5 cable, or my computer's and cable modem's ethernet interface can deal with a sub spec cable over this short distance.
