Don't have the game for pc, but it seems COD1 has problems on Win 7. People have tried to a new library, etc., but to no avail. Sorry.

COD1 worked perfectly for me on 32bit, though I do not own the GOTY edition.

Make sure you have the latest nVidia drivers installed, most people that had problems with this game was because of the drivers.

As an alternative, you can try forcing the game to run on a single core (if you have a dual core CPU or above).

One last thing, if none of the steps above work, download the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable", preferably directly from Microsoft's website.

Glad you solve your problem but, if you don't mind, it would be nice if you can post what you did in order for others to be able to solve the problem as well should they be in your shoes in the future.

Enjoy the game!
