Is there any utility/program/command to get the modem info - make and model ?

I'm helping someone remotly via Teamviewer.
She has TWC (Time Warner Cable) ISP.

PROBLEM: When she boots her PC, she usually has no internet access, unless she reboots the modem.

It is a purchased modem, not a TWC "leased" modem.
I don't know who purchased/installed the modem, but it is probably old, and i'm guessing that may be the problem.
I'm guessing she needs a new modem, but i don't know how to be sure :( :o
She has a router, and connects from her laptop wirelessly.

tyia !

On most items, include modem, there are indication of the model, make, etc.

There should have a sticker either behind or bottom on modem, router, etc.
Most info you need is available there.

After knowing the nec detail, you are going to search internet, right.

Go for the Manual as this is important.
It will be stated on the lights indicators, etc.

Maybe could call the ISP and provide them the MAC address and they can confirm at their end on any issue.
This connection issue, is quite a problem.
In my ISP, they have this Community forum, where i usually available & read and provide assistance daily.
That is to say, check if they have such forum, and see if her problem is common or not.
In my ISP, there are quite a lot of customer on broadband 1Gbps having connection issue.
So far, for me on 500Mbps, do not have any issue.

Eric.

I believe the answer to that specific question would be no, at least in this case. The ability of a computer to learn of devices beyond the router is extremely limited. Everything beyond the router is just part of a network and it isn't knowable that it even is a modem. If the computer was connected directly to the modem you could at least get it's MAC address but with an intervening router even that is not possible.

The ISP would probably know more than you could determine remotely but I don't know how much.

Thanks for the replies and help.

This person is a senior citizen non-tech person.
Whoever set this up installed the modem in the basement and i don't know how easy it is for her to get the make/model off the modem.
I told her i would try and see if i could find a way to get the info for her.

She has called TWC several times, but still has the problem.
I told her as far as i know if it is not a TWC modem they are not responsible for any problems with the modem.
If she can't get the info, guess she will need to get someone into her house to get it.
I'm kinda surprised that TWC doesn't tell her they don't support her modem and offer to replace it with a leased TWC modem.

I was hoping to search for any info about the modem such as reported problems, a firmware update, etc.

Again, thanks :)
