Can I Get Screen Saver to Fill The Screen?

While the Windows 7 desktop background pictures fill the screen, the screen saver photos do not.

Is there a way to have the latter fill the screen as well?

Are your pictures big enough to fill the screen? I can get mine to fill the screen but the pictures I'm using are also Wallpaper size.

I'm using the photos included with Win 7. You'd think they'd be the same size as the wallpaper.

Yeah I was just wondering cause you can choose different themes in the windows live one, Just thought I'd ask to make sure.

Sorry if you already know this but when you choose Screen Saver if you go to settings then Browse you can navigate to any folder on your system that has images in it to use for your screen saver. You can of course, use the sample pictures that come with Win 7 but you pobably would prefer to use your own. If the pictures you choose are not exactly the same aspect ratio as your monitor then you will get black bars either at the sides or the top and bottom of your screen. is this what you get? If not can you use the navigation above and post which folder you have selected and say if the photos in question are yours or samples that came with Win 7.

What are you getting? A black border to the sides? Or a thick black margin round all sides?
Don't know Callington that well it is a long way up the County but i used to visit it frequently when i had my small printing business. Had customers up there!

What you see is perfectly correct. I have just looked at the details of one of the sample pictures and it measures 1024 x 768 pixels. My screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 pixels. By doing the maths the ratio of the picture is 1.33 but the screen is 1.6. That's why you get the black borders. Therefore if you used a photo editor that gave you a distortion feature you could use what's called "unsquare pixel rendering" to make the picture fit the screen. This would make the picture look odd though, this is what makes people look either too fat or too thin. Alternatively if you cropped the top or bottom of the picture to a degree that gave it the same aspect ratio as the screen then it will fit the screen.
So if you want a screen saver with pictures to fit your screen edit some pictutres to give the aspect ration of your screen and choose them in the "Browse" part of the screen saver options

Had another thought on this. You can make a better choice (IMHO) screensaver using images like this. Go to the screensaver window where you chose "Photos" click the down arrow head and choose "Windows Live Photo Gallery" Then "Browse" to the picture folder of your choice. Then Apply and OK. Much better result. Even changes the chosen pictures to black and white sometimes. All pictures fit the frames provided so no black margins. Very Attractive screen saver.

At Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization\Desktop Background, try a different Picture Position setting: Fill or Stretch should do it.

Since I have no personal pictures loaded on this new laptop, it appears this option isn't open to me. I'm in Arizona at the moment and won't be home in Maryland for another month or so. I will look into this further when I get back there.

As for crimping a pasty I must admit ignorance on what a "hen" is. The men in the family were Pennsylsvania miners (first tin and then coal). I remember the pies being made so that there was a discardable "handle," to avoid any tin poisoning.

Just for the fun of it - you can also have a video as screensaver. Go to Windows Live Photo Gallery > File > Screensaver settings and make the settings as in the picture. The video must be in .wmv format and be in a folder.
