Can I give my friend my old copy of vista basic?

I had Vista basic on my computer, i built the pc, and awhile ago upgraded to windows 7 which is what is currently on my pc with the product key from windows 7. Can i give my friend my old vista basic with that key without any problems?

If it's a retail copy, then you could. Your friend will most likely need to do a phone activation to be able to activate the key on his computer though.

I too agree. But more often than not it shall get activated on the Net too. Saying this from practical experience.
